Jen, I just wish the thing would grow. It is healthy as a horse, but not growing tall. I know it is a bush, but right now, I'm wondering. If any of those buds open up, I'll never be able to see them. I can take a picture, but all you would see is the variegation on the leaves. If I can remember, tomorrow, I'll take a pic and either post it or send it to you.

ill keep an eye out for the pic!!
thanks

Jen,
So far I can't find the purple one....I have one more place to look but as normal I keep forgetting. I bet my friend Kay at Woolmarket Nursery has one....I gave her all the ones she has.

BTW...where have you been??????

Jen, I posted it in Vines and Climbers. Don't know where my head was. Guess I was thinking about the MG war. :-)

Calalily, I just found your post. What is pyrethurm & where can I get it? I have LOTS of holes in my morning glories & potato vine leaves. I have seen GOLD bugs on them but couldn't catch them to squash. There is sure lots of bugs here in FL.

I found it at a green house supply place. You might try Home Depot too.

Sugar,

You need to go to a coop and get it. Last I checked we couldn't get it in home depot. Try the one over in chipley.

there is a recipe where you mix dog shampoo with pyrethium in it with dish soap (i always use murphy's oil soap) and something else and water. can't remember the proportions.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Arlene, that's a great idea. The Murphys doesn't hurt anything? We always have dog shampoo on hand. I've also used the Adams flea spray on a few things in a pinch since it's just pyrethrum.
I did damage some leaves using mosquito repellant. It was the natural stuff from Wallyworld and thought it would be safe. It spotted the leaves really bad.

Arlene, I'd sure like to get that recipe. Maybe a new thread with it could help a lot of us with bug problems.

montgomery, AL(Zone 7b)

I have Adam's flea soap here & Murphys.. wonder what the proportions are & what else?

montgomery, AL(Zone 7b)

I found a spray made by Schultz that has pyrethrins ..it is made with chrysanthemums. I'm sure it is the same thing. The bad thing is it has to hit the bugs to kill them & I have only seen them once..just the many holes they make. I found it at Dollar General Store.

Cala, if you get enough pink cuttings, I would be interested in one. By the way, I haven't forgotten Lauren. I decided since we are coming that way in July, that DH will just have to detour your way so I can give it to her myself.

Gingerlily, they are getting really tall now. I'm sure I can get some cuttings off of them. I think the growth needs to harden up a bit before I take them.

Paxton, FL(Zone 8a)

Cala, before I come up let me know if there is anything from down this way that I can get or bring for you.
