Vanilla Coke

I like it, but I think Frisch's Big Boy ( http://www.frischs.com/ ) has more vanilla flavor than the official Coke version that just came out. I think I'll buy it though. :)

I hate Coke, and couldn't get past the coke taste, I wanted it sooooooooo bad though! did try the Lemon Diet coke last night and it's okay. wish I could get Frischs vanilla 'coke'!!

They don't sell vanilla coke here.. Only the common. And Pepsi + some 'cheap ones'. And the biggest bottle we can buy here is 1,5 litres :( It costs about 2 $ (2.10 €).

I like coke floats, vanilla ice cream in coke, and if they could bottle the coke with some ice cream melted in it, I'd buy it all the time, love that taste!!

I like the vanilla coke. Evert, just add a squirt of the vanilla syrup that is used to make milk shakes to the coke.

Vanilla coke sounds great,I drink about a six pack a day(2 caffine,4 caffine free) can't deal with diet stuff.....So a vanilla coke would be a nice change!Where would you get one?

Would vanilla extract or vanilla sugar make the same? I got s free 33cl can of light coke when I bought 2 pack of 1,5l bottles (3,20 €) coke from market. Tastes bad, yuck..

I haven't tried the new Vanilla Coke, but I think the lemon-flavored Diet Coke is just plain nasty (it smells like Pledge, for goodness sake.) The new Diet Pepsi with lemon is better, but not by much.

Actually my favorite fountain drink is a Route 44-size Diet Coke from Sonic, with a twist of lime (they squeeze a whole lime in it.) It's my "gotta have" reward when I've spent a day sweating in the yard. I've got my mom hooked on 'em, and DH will even order one now (he was a die-hard "no diet soda" kinda guy for a loooong time - this converted him.)

Haven't tried it yet. Most of you are too young to remember, but this reminds me of the cokes we used to get at Walgreen's soda fountain. There were vanilla, orange, cherry and lemon & I think chocolate. They simply put some ice in a glass and gave a squirt of Coke syrup, then added what ever flavor you chose, and filled the glass with carbonated water. All this for .05 or a large one for .10. My favorite was lemon or orange, never liked cherry, it was too sweet. Looks like Coke is trying to bring back the "old days".

Vanilla Coke should be available everywhere before too long. My wife found the 20 ounce bottles, but not the cans yet.

Coca-Cola came to Finland on 1952, when we had olympics in Helsinki... so it hasn't been here so long.

Do you ever drink the 'powder juices' by the way? Melody sent me some bags of the 'powder' and I like it a lot. They don't sell it here.. :( Someone want send me more, hahaha? :P I just made strawberry juice ;)

The flavored syrup is sort of like you put on snow-cones or in a Slurpie. Do you have those there? (someone help me out here)

It'll never replace Cherry Coke, or Cherry 7 Up!! I think it's gonna bomb big time. If you want a vanilla taste, get a creme soda!!

Nope, we just have healthy pure fruit juices, hahahaha :) And ofcourse xylitol in chewing gums and toothpastes ;)

Yucky Diet coke with lemon , we all dislike it and cherry cola hate it so I use Diet Rite no calorie and no sodium taste great for me. Long time ago no more make "TAB" oh that was so bad taste bitter.

My DH loves drink Rootbeer Floating old fashion way.
I know Evert will like it to try drink Rootbeer Floating so pour rootbeer and put ice cream vanilla a scoop and drink glass you will see floating bubble so good taste foam. Try it!

Also, taste good try pour 7-UP with lime shebert so good too.

they don't have kool-aid in germany either and I used to send some to my cousin every once in awhile. Evert, I'll try to send you some if I think about it :)

Do you have a bitter sodas there for sale called Schweppes? I hate it.. there are a few types of it, only Schweppes I like is the ginger one. Tonic Water and Russian, yuck..

We used to have Schweppes in Turkey, but in different flavors. I remember when Pepsi first came to turkey, in 1969 or 1970, my mother was soooo excited, it was her favorite drink that she missed. there were Pepsi trucks with baloons on them just driving around town, It was funny.

We don't have Big bob's here, their food looks good.

We drink diet coke in our house, between my husband and I we can very easily go thru 3-4 12 packs a week (more in the summer and on weekends...)

We are diet coke drinkers too. I don't like the lemon flavored, and I haven't seen the vanilla flavored here yet. This thread reminds me of when we used to make cinnamon cokes. I loved those. I wonder if you can still buy the cinnamon flavoring we used to use. That was a long long time ago, and we used to get it at the corner drug store. I might have to check on that. I've got a hankering for one now.

I don't think any one answered your question about vanilla
extract. yes if you add vanilla extract/sugar/syrup to your coke you would have about the same thing. you would have to play with the amount till you found what you liked . i never think they put enough flavor in the flavoried cokes any way.
sometimes if there is nothing bit water in the house and i am to lazy to go to the store i put
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup sugar
1 quart cold water
in a glass
kind of like cream soda w/o the soda

I can remember going to Woolworths and ordering a Cherry coke, pineapple coke, Lemon and even a chocolate coke. All for 5 cents! Haven't tasted the new vanilla one yet. I used to buy a vanilla ice cream sundae, It would be the vanilla ice cream with vanilla syrup on top. that was yum! (10 cents, with two scoops of ice cream with whipped cream on top!)

we dont have the vanilla coke here yet either, nor have we ever had kool-aid (i've only ever seen people have that on films). what does kool-aid taste of btw? we do have cherry coke and cherry 7up. we had tab clear for a while, but it was disgusting. we also have that awful luminous mountain dew for a while, but i think that bombed too!

plain old coca-cola will always be my fave :D

Lilith, Kool-Aid is an uncarbonated, artificial fruit-flavored drink mix. It comes in flavors like lemon, grape, orange, cherry, watermelon, etc. Its color is so intense, it's practically guaranteed to leave a semi-permanent moustache on any child who drinks it :) (A few years ago, some kids used it to temporarily dye their hair hideous colors, LOL.)

I'm not sure how to describe the flavor, other than it's very sweet, and has an artificial fruit taste (like fruit-flavored candy, I guess.) Most kids love it, and it's a cheap drink to give them, especially in the summer when every child in the neighborhood is at my house AND is thirsty!

Found the vanilla coke today.Couldn't even finish it,the first few sips were ok ,but,,,,,,

Our local "Dairy Queen" has Vanilla coke, has had for 40 years.. They are a local favorite in parts around here. I make my own also.If you can buy DaVinci Syrups where you are, try them.. Tons of flavors and lots in sugar-free.. I get them at Super Wal-Mart, next to the gourmet coffee's.. Here is an oline link also, if you want to read up on them.

Lilith, Kool-Aid comes in a foil lined envelope, it is a powder that you mix with one cup of sugar and a quart of water.
I remember as kids mixing it with sugar and eating the power by dipping our fingers in the envelope and licking it off our fingers, of course our fingers would be dyed the color of the kool-aid for days it seems.
the they started making the Kool-aid with the sugar in it, but not all flavors, and pretty soon they dissapeared, but the original ones are still around, and can be bought for like 10 cents each in the height of summer.
They have new and unusal flavors every summer, last summer strawberry watermelon was big, and kiwi strawberry. they also make them (and this is strictly going for th younger children....) colored powder that turns a different colr when it gets wet. For example the powder is red, but when wet it becomes blue....a couple of years ago, they had a funny thing where traditional red drinks were blue instead of red, strawberry, cherry etc.
another thing that they do with kool-aid, is freeze it in containers so that they make frzn lollipops....

I haven't seen the vanilla coke yet. I don't like the after taste of diet drinks, and when we go into town I either get a vanilla cone, or sonic's cherry lime-ade. last time it had two cherries in it, and they have half a lime boy!could I go for one now!

I tried vanilla coke the other day and found it not much different than a cheap cream soda. Not something that I will buy again. I like just plain old Coke, or Dr Pepper, or Root Beer. Just water is fine for most of the time but sometimes I crave the fizz. Lani
