Aimee...I guess I should have explained what he's doing. After 33 years of watching and sometimes helping I forget others don't see what I see. This is a wood shaper. He gets the lumber from the mill in the rough, planes it, straightens it, cuts for size, and then this machine is what makes all the pretty details. These particular cabinet fronts are pine by customer request.

So it's a router? It must be extemely exacting work, planing and shaping from a rough chunk of tree. I would love to be able to do that. Always wished I had the tools and space to do serious woodwork. Thanks for clarifying, even if I don't really understand it. I do know how to sand and seal!

Yes, you could say it is a router. A BIG router. And yes, it is exacting work. I couldn't begin to crunch numbers in my head like he does.
