My F-Secure said this morning that it had found the Klez worm from my computer. I then deleted/cleaned it and shouldn't have anything now.. I hope. I wonder where did I get it.

Evert, a lot of people on DG are suffering right now. The ones without Mcafee and Norton seem to be suffering worst.
:(

hmm think i will run my anti virus and spy wear finder

Tig, I just wanted to let cha know I got all of my things straightened out. Thanks so much for the warning though. You are a doll!! And also, It was so nice to meet you and your family. Everyone was soo nice and I absolutely loved your yard. Boy, I'm envious!! Thanks again for the wonderful plants from the plant sale. I have all of the tomatoes set out and are doing great and alot of the others as well!! (Especially the water plants) You are a great lady and I certainly appreciate it and enjoyed meeting ya'll. Only wish you didn't have so many customers (only while I was there, I was very proud of you) so we could have chatted a while!! Thanks again for everything!!

want to recommend bootdisk.com. DDs computer was down over a month, long and short of it, there is an emergency disk can be made there by f-prot for a computer downed by virus. i get if you are literate you can get one at f-prot, i get lost around there. also, emergency start up discs are important too. i had to make this "disk" on a CD as my floppy isn't working and it solved the problems in about a minute.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

boy arlene, you are about 6 minutes too late!! I just formatted. I had a bootup disc, and the rescue program from the virus program I was using and neither worked. reinstalled windows, didn't work. formatted just a few minutes ago, and will reinstall. just is a pain in the *ss. have to reload all the drivers for everything, get settings back, all programs back. viruses suck. I will have Norton and that's a fact. I'm through with avg, it caused problems anyway, and didn't save me.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

a support person gave me the bootdisk.com address. we had already tried to format and reinstall and had an errot. my daughter put in the f-prot disc, rebooted, and all was well. there are a bunch of useful programs there.

forgot to talk to Traci!! It was so much fun meeting you! I wish we'd been able to sit under the tree and talk more. You were my good luck piece, wasn't doing much til you got there!!!
You have to come down again when the brugs start blooming, I hope to put on a good show :)
thanks so much for taking time to come meet me, and enjoy those maters!!!!!!!!

arlene, what is on that "boot disk"? Does it re-load a new program or something? or does it make your system like it once was? Or does it just make it so you have enuff commands to clean the rest of it up on your own? (I'm showing my ignorance here, eh?)
By the way, for all you folks out there worrying about virus's (or virii) you can go to the Symantec home page and they will do an online virus check of your system..for free. At least then you'll know if you have a hidden troll under your bridge.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

shoe, I can't find a scan on symantec, do you have the link??

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

DDs computer would not start. don't know what the f-prot program from bootdisc.come did. had run a virus clean up from disk and tried to do a system restore from the back up CDs. gave an error at the end of restore and would not start, system still wouldn't run. it's not a very big file. she said she put it in, it ran, shut down and the PC started working again. it's something i'll keep just in case. she had the mcaffee on her system but was using a local free server that apparently is being eaten by viruses and passing them on.

sugar, that email is really circulating right now...don't feel bad, lots of people got took by it (wonder if that is a "new" kind of virus, one that just messes with people and not computers).

Unfortunately that one or one like it has been going around awhile. If you follow the directions, it causes you to delete a file that is part of your operating system. You are not the first to fall for it. There is another going around titled IE 6.0 patch and it will actually give you the virus as well as another one that says it gets rid of it.

montgomery, AL(Zone 7b)

Well I have always heard.. "fooled once shame on them.. fooled twice shame on me".. I'll check 1st next time..
I know my friend did what I did..
Wonder why my DH's puter didn't have it? I don't understand what is going on.. never had to deal with a virus before except for the snow white one & I knew what to do with it.. I don't open any attachments from anyone except JPG.
Live & learn *LOL*
