How my WIFE is spending Mother's Day

Wanda found this wee Wood Mouse at our back door. The cat which was standing over it must have chased the mother, thus causing her to drop her baby. The cat was duly chased away, and the poor wee thing brought inside, where Wanda has mollycoddled it all night, (getting up every hour to feed it), and all of today she's been running after her new wee baby, whose eyes are still closed.

My wife and I were out in the yard today and a car pulled in our drive and turned around and went back up the road a ways. A young guy got out of the car and picked a turtle out of the road and carried it safely to the other side of the road. We thought that was so nice.

Jim, we have Gopher turtles in Fla...and most everyone keeps an eye out for them crossing the road...very common to see people stop...or carry one across the road when they cross.

unfortunately we saw a bird's nest on the side of the road with all the little babies in it...none of them made it, i think someone ran over the nest after it had fallen, babies and all.... i think they did it on purpose because it was squished against the side of the curb. it was really sad.
but another time we saw a baby bird and the mother with it but the mother was hurt, was saw them in the drive thru at the bank so we got them up the curb in the grass and another big bird flew over, might have been the daddy but hopefully they're making it all right.
