How did the plant sale go?? Did you have it?? Was it a success?? Do tell!!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

yes, I had it. It was soooooooo slow until after 10 or so, and I was really just wishing it over at that point! :) Then all heck broke out and it was busy busy the rest of the day. I made quite well for our town I think. We didn't take the signs down after the published time, and sold another $50 by just sitting around. I didn't think I was going to move my seedlings, but the trays are almost empty! I sold almost every brug I had out, and it's a good thing I have more cuttings started, I have an ad running in the market bulletin and that's what everyone wanted. Sold all my known waterlilies, so I'm out of those until the rest bloom and tell me what they are.
I sold quite a few tomatoes, and that's pretty good considering I didn't have any that people recognize, but a good typed description sheet and the plants themselves did all the talking.
We've left the signs up for tomorrow, we weren't going anywhere anyway, and then we'll think about another. But we're all feeling quite successful here, so I feel good:)
thanks for asking, I sure wish you'd been well enough to come down!!

TiG, so glad all went well. We had a very busy day today too!! Get some rest, you should be busy tomorrow too.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Sounds like you did very well. I would think Mother's Day would be a great day to sell plants too.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

this was much easier than a yard sale to me! everything can sit out til gone, and no junk to bring back in the house, I'll just plant the leftovers :)

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, I so wish I had the energy to do that! What a lot of fun it must be, despite the hard work. Maybe next year!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Do it way before the heat hits Aimee, it was a lot of fun.

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

tig congratulations!!! Sounds like it all went so well for you!! Would you do it again???

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

tiG, in my area, that is tricky, which might be the reason I have never done it. May is traditionally a very rainy and stormy month here, the wettest of the year, and plants would need shelter in case of high winds of the storms. But if you wait until the storm period passes, it's already hot. I guess an April sale might work. I am beginning to look forward to it. I think next year I will think about a sale with Texas natives! See what you've started?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh Aimee, and April is really better!!! I wish now I'd done it a bit earlier. I thought my area was tricky too, it rains every weekend here, I got really lucky. But we've sure had the rain these last few weeks. We've had high winds too, I'd have to go out and stand plants back up after every storm.
But I hope you do it!! it was really fun.

O what wonderful news tiG!!!! Congrats to you!!!! I knew it would be a success, with all that hard work you put into getting them started and all...it paid off didn't it??!!! I knew it would!!
Soo sorry I couldn't make it though, but I'll be at the next one for sure! Did Traci make it over there?? I know she said she was going, but I never heard from her so I couldn't tell her to get me anything :( meany!! lol
All in all though I'm glad you enjoyed it and maybe that will incourage you to do another one soon!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)
