I as just out buying a plant. when I saw this dad talking with his 4ish year son. little one was crying. Dad asked. well, if you don;t want to get mom roses for Mothers Day. what do you want to get he??? He says Christmas cards. ! She gets so happy when she gets Christmas cards. I thought I was gonna bust! So cute! just had to share.

I think I would have probably gone home and dug out the Christmas cards for him to select one. And she would smile and hug him and be happy, and he would have proven his point.

I'm with Aimee, I'd have found him a Christmas card somehow/somewhere so he could give her the thing that he wants to give her. Memories are made of things like that, it's sweet. The father should "take a step back" and realize that this day is about family, it doesn't really matter what the boy buys her as long as it's from him and with love.... daddy should buy the roses from himself! And those roses better be attached to the roots! :) That's my number one rule, all flowers that are brought to me need to be "still attached to thier roots".

"kids say the darnest things" Really used to enjoy that!
