have you been to these airports?

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

I have to travel at the end of this month for a job interview, and have been given two itineraries to choose from. Both are about the same times, and the times are quite convenient for distance to my local airport and for arrival time.

What I'm wondering is this: If there's one on this list that you've been to, and it was wonderful, or completely horrible, warn me! :) I will have so much on my mind those days, a confusing airport is the last thing I want.

Philadelphia, PA (thru usairways)
Charlotte, NC (usairways)
Cleveland, OH (delta)
Atlanta, GA (delta)

I've been to Atlanta, and found it a little chaotic, and unclear. That's the only one of the four I've been to. I'm going to search for their websites now (if they have them), and try to get some more information.

Still, I would appreciate feedback from folks who've been to these locations. Post here, or email me through the dg email system.

Thank you in advance,
-AngelSong

I've been through them all and found them equally unappealing. Airports are rarely fun buildings.

Atlanta, at least, is a nicer building that has very clear concords (although you can only smoke in Concord C, which can be very inconvenient).

Cleveland has a very nice foodcourt that you can smoke in, and outside the food court are a million stores (including the Disney store, if memory serves) that is useful for killing time.

Charlotte and Philly: I didn't spend enough time there to get a good feel.

I'd go OH and GA via Delta if I were in your shoes.

Charlotte is difinitely the worst on your list!!

eyes (and any others) - elaborate, give me details. Bad because they lost things? bad because they have a lot of delays??

Thanks

one airport is pretty much the same as the next...you're always frazzled - in a rush- crowded etc., at least, seens like the ones on the east coast have smoking rooms

pebble - I contend that they're not all the same. Pittsburgh International is fabulous. However, it's not my selection list.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

ive flown in/out of our gulfport regional airport and the new orleans airport numerous times and have had good and bad experiences at both.
the delta counter is a little confusing in the atlanta airport. if memory serves correctly, you have to check in upstairs and then go downstairs to wait for the flight.
atlanta also has a starbucks kiosk that has the most fantastic almond joy cappucino, but dont expect to get waited on at the chocolate shop if the boyfriends are hanging around.
theres a really funny, not so knowledgeable, guy that works at the bookstore. hes a hoot to talk to.
i would give atlanta the thumbs up, but the lady that missed her flight because she was waiting upstairs for boarding and missed her flight would probably give it a thumbs down.

Elizabethton (Stoney, TN(Zone 6b)

Charlotte = very huge place, especially the US Airways area. Avoid it if you can.

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

You won't call those boring places when you have been through passport control in Dabolim Airport, Goa, India, you've got stomach ache, flight is delayed, it's +35 C in shade, and you have nothing to drink...
I really like Helsinki-Vantaa, great airport, and clean. Ranked to be the best airport under 15 million passenger size class. :)

Cleveland, OH(Zone 5b)

Sorry Dave, can't smoke anywhere in Cleveland Hopkins Airport. Not even the bar lounges. (maybe in the private club that's there) But it's not too bad of an airport.

Thank you everyone for the information about the airports. My dad has also flown quite a bit for work, and I still need to get his opinion. I still haven't decided yet, but I will some time today.

Thank you!
