Hey, Dave!!! Question 4 ya!!!.....

Ashland, OH(Zone 6a)

Hi there, Dave! I was wondering.... I know you've got some kinda chatroom here that's only open on certain days or something (altho I've never found it!), but I'm wondering...Is there any way you could have a chatroom that's available ALL the time, around the clock, as in...24/7....huh, Dave? Pretty please? I'd LOVE to be able to chat with summa these great gardening folks whenever I get a chance online. Sometimes that would be 5 or 6 in the morning, sometimes 10 at nite, maybe 2 in the afternoon, you get the idea. My hours are weird. So what do ya say, Dave? Is this possible??? I also think that you should list the chatroom link on the home page or something, so everyone can see it. I really think a lot of people would use it this way too!

I have a chat like that for all DG friends. It's called Flow's Porch. You just have to let someone else know that you're there or you may be in there by yourself as the hours that people pop up in there are a bit strange :)
E-mail me with your DG name and I'll add you to the list, give you a password and will send you the link for it.

AuntyB,

(Good to see you!! Where do you keep hiding?!?!)

We no longer have a 24/7 chat. I posted the chat hours on your other thread. For all of our member's saftey, as well as our own convience, the schedule was created.

Many members are also on MSN or AIM (I'm not sure which is the more popular one). I bet if you started a thread for that, you'd get lots of responses :)

Sorry we can't be more help, and I hope you understand.

Hi, Trish! I've been around, just really busy. I have a regular schedule where I work at the group home, PLUS I'm the relief person for any of the other workers there when they want a day off for whatever reason and for whatever shifts, so they keep me really busy over there! I just love it....it's my home away from home! ;-) But, it does make it hard to keep up with my internet activities. By the time I get done going thru my emails, it's time to run off again!...and that can get frustrating at times. I have a few websites and a yahoo email group for gardeners and those really keep me busy too.
As for this MSN thing....I have MSN messenger...haven't used it in ages, but if I started up again, how would I know the other folks' ID's so I could chat with them? Are their ID's listed here somewhere? So all I'd have to do is write a message to them? I can understand the 24/7 problem with having a chatroom open like that...I spose it's hard to monitor what's going on all the time. So, I'll give the MSN thing a try. Plus I'll try to remember that Tuesday's the day for chat here, and hopefully my schedule will work out so I'm home for it! ;-) Gonna go now and try to figure out my name and password for MSN so I can tell people....*lol*
Good to see you again!!!

There's also a Thursday morning chat if you're near the puter then. :) It would be neat if all DG members who use MSN and Yahoo (who also would like to hear from other DG members) could maybe put DG as both their first and last names in their profile. That way, wouldn't we then be able to search for members by this "name" and find just our DG folks? This wouldn't work for people who put their actual name in their profile, though.

AuntyB....I am emailing you my MSN addy...Hope to chat you soon. Jo

P.S. If you don't get an email from me today, would you let me know on this thread? I have written to a few people here through the DG mail, and haven't received and answer....maybe they don't like me, but I do wonder if they got it. Jo

There have been threads before about what your MSN or Yahoo user name is. Feel free to start another one.
