New forum request

Chicago, IL

Dave,

I get very interesting emails at work regarding new developments, discoveries, and educational advances in the botany field from usually public (versus academic) sources.

There have been times that I wanted to share some of the info, but couldn't find an appropriate forum. I posted one article about the discovery of a fossilized flowering plant found in China in the "Wild Plants" forum. Is there some way we can have an "In The News" forum?

We already have that, actually. It's called the "Current Events" forum.

Regards,

Oh.

I guess I was looking for something more specifically about plants and botony in the news. I cut out the Current Events forum on my homepage because it focused too much on celebrities and pop culture.

Indeed, but you can change that by posting lots of botanical news. I'm much more interested in botanical news than pop news (which holds no interest for me), and I look forward to seeing your posts!

I'd probably visit the current events forum more often if there were more news posted about botany. Sometimes I like to have a discussion about world news or politics, but not too often. But I'd LOVE to hear of news in the world of gardening! I may not always respond to your posts along those lines, SquareRoot, but I'd sure like to read them!

Ditto that.

I'd also like to see the Current Events being used for botanical news as well as the rest of the info posted.

Ditto, ditto, ditto. I'll add back "Current Events" to the list of forums I watch for botanical news.

*whew*

In regards to changing the type of news; I thought the same way initially, but I wanted to respect the existing forum more. "Proceed with Caution" outweighed my wanting to just get up on the diving board.

Thank you for the support.

I say go for it Sqroot...it would make me add that forum to my "watched" list. And please make the subject line bring me in, k?
Thanks, good suggestion!
