Something not working

Zone 6, OH(Zone 6a)

This has only happened a few times, but I thought I'd share it. Take a look at the screenshot. To the right, above the thread, something isn't appearing as it should...

Actually, it's constant...on the Computer Talk Forum. I've refreshed the page several times and the same thing appears.

That's an image. It's the icon I created for the Computer Talk forum.

Are you pulling my chain or are you serious?...lol

Actually, it does appear to be an image if I right-click on it...

hczone6, don't worry, we are all seeing it the same. I'm assuming that the code didn't quite work and therefore we are seeing the code and not the picture is should have turned into.

I've received many many of these kinds of reports over the past few months. I'm going to go ahead and remove the icon.

I thought it was kinda humorous but I don't want people to think my site is broken. :)

Well, maybe I was wrong. What icon are you talking about Dave? Sure nothing showing up on my screen. Just stuff!! OR---am I having a senior moment and just don't know it?

So that's Linux/Unix for creating a directory or something of 10kb...

The "stuff" WAS the image Brugie...it was just an image of the text you saw.

I'm a little slow, but I get it now. Duh!!

I just thought it was a logo of some kind for programming jargon. I think there is something on every forum. In a reply to understanding computer stuff, a man replied "It's all geek to me!" LOL I have to say my hubby has an Associates in Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelors in Computer Science and he gets a kick out of Dave's silly side. The April Fools joke nearly made him fall out of his chair laughing, and he said Dave is quite a writer. As for the geek comment, it is a compliment coming from me. Hubby keeps the computer running smoothly and that keeps me happy. :) My programming skills are limited to the tv and vcr. LOL

My programming skills are limited to my computer. TVs and VCRs (and alarm clocks and so forth) are foreign archaic machines and I don't understand them. I just press buttons until it appears to do what I want. (Or, I just ask Trish to make it do what I wish).

Now set me in front of a Linux box and away I go.

Dave

P.S. hczone: That snippet of code doesn't just copy a 10K file... it's an endless loop that simultaneously creates and deletes a 10K file for infinite. Run as root, it usually it will cause your system to slow to a terrible crawl and you may even have to turn the box off to stop it!! hehehe.

LOL Poor Trish is married to computer geek for sure! LOL "Whatever pays the bills" is my motto!

(Zone 8a)

Looks like some kind of code someone left something out of and it popped up instead of image!

LOL...I happened to have done that on ocassion too on my website!

Dave, I can program your VCR to record your favorite programs for the next week. I can bake a pie, I can grow seeds, but computer programming is beyond me. I guess it's good that we all have our fields of expertise! I really like all your logos on the forums, and I surmised this was one of them. That's surprising since I am computer impaired!
