PBS's Frontier House - anyone else watching?

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

This is the most awesome show!!! I don't know how much longer it'll be on, but so far it's been wonderful! I watched 1900 House as well, but this one is better ~ I think having three families instead of one adds MUCH to it.

The people I thought at first would make it are starting to crack and the ones that had the hardest row to hoe are beginning to really get into it! I really like Nate and his new bride. Their attitude is great and they're so cute together. I hate it that Karen isn't loosening up ~ she's too hard on her husband. To survive the frontier life, I think you really had to work together, not against each other and she's just not working together with him. The Clunes snuck in a still! Smart!! http://www.pbs.org/wnet/frontierhouse/

I havent been watching, but have seen a few min. here and there-saw them starving and the wedding! Thats about all ive saw!

They must have started it here much later. The first episode was just on this past Monday! I even missed Aly to watch it :~) I did enjoy and will keep watching if I can remember to turn on the tv LOL.

I saw it last night, it was a great show! I just can't even begin to think how hard work must have been for those folks back then. Wonderful concept of a 'Survivor' show.

It started Monday here, too, and will be over tonight. :-( It's gone by so fast. I hope they run it again for everyone that couldn't see it. I wish everyone would watch it with their children. I'll bet they'd come out of it with a good appreciation of today's living standards. The two teenage girls in the Clune family sure are getting an eye-opener! I know Kenny and I looked at each other and went, "Wow..." There is so much we have that we take for granted ~ the local grocery store for one and cars for another. And there's so much we really don't need ~ like television and computers (though I'm not giving up the 'puter! LOL!).

Regardless, I almost signed us up to be in the running for the show ~ if they'd have let us bring our own dogs, we'd have gone in a heartbeat! I think we could have done well. We were raised on farms so have some of the needed skills and mentality. I wouldn't be worried about me starving as I've got rations stored up, atleast a month on each hip alone ~ the butt, well, that'd be the other three months' worth. When Kenny first said, "I'd love to have done that! We should have signed up!" I said, "Well, you'd sure have to eat more than you do now!" *grin* The level of despair and panic is something that I don't know about, but I know our relationship would be perfect for it ~ I joke around a lot, but in reality neither one of us is "The Boss". We each have respect for the other, so value each other's ideas and opinions. When making decisions, usually one or the other will have a strong opinion and we'll just go that way ~ if not, we'll talk it out. I think if you have that with your mate, you can do anything.
