I miss you all but have been Busy starting my garden and also presenting the artistic view of the flowewers at my web site http://www.cybermonet.com If you go there to take a look and click on to the "Private Stock" button.
Happy gardening
Jerry Gryniewics
To grow a flower is to be an artist.
Your site is very nice. Are the pictures taken from your own garden or do you find the photo oportunities all over?
Jerry, your work is beautiful. If you don't mind my asking, what kind of a computer do you use and programs? I'm a photographer also, I do my prints individually using the hard side of transparancy film. I'm looking into a new system, thinking about going back to Apple and upgrading to Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and an Epson scanner with transparency capability. It's going to take awhile to get it all together, but I have an exhibit coming up in December and I'm hoping to do some of the upgrade this summer. Along with gardening like crazy.
Stunning work Jerry!!! Kathleen, you are a dark horse!!!
Is that good, or bad???? lolol
When I went to the site (hyperlink above), all I get is a single page, no links or buttons on the page. Did I miss something (besides missing Jerry!)?
Darius, it worked okay for me just now...beautiful stuff there!
Must be my computer (or browser)... I just get the title and the animated GIF...
Thank you all for your nice words. Yes all my floral art pieces are from pictures taken in my garden only--90% of which I grew from seed.
Kathleen, I use a Dell Deminsions XPS B1000 computer, Adobe Photoshop 6.0 and I have never had an exhibit of my work yet.
I am still building my collection--on canvas prints--to have at least 20 framed pieces to be able to show. To date I have 14 and should receive 3 more new ones by the end of this week. The medium is called "giclee".
I have reworked my Cyber Monet web site so that there are now thumbnail pictures to click onto.
Kathleen, I am interested in viewing your photography do you have a web site you could post?
Darius, did you not see the "Enter" on the index page to click onto? If you can't get past that page try this link; http://www.cybermonet.net/home then click on the "Gallery" button. Hope it works.
Wow it is hard to believe that two months have passed since I last posted here. I really have to come here more often--seems like all I do is work work work.
Hope to catch you all soon :-)
Jerry
Hey, Jerry.. Thanks! That second hyperlink worked just fine. I love what you are doing... keep up the good work. Make lots of money... get famous... just don't forget your gardening friends here @ DG.
WOW!!!!!WOW!!!!!WOW!!!!!WOW!!!!!!
AWESOME!!!!!!AWESOME!!!!!AWESOME!!!!!
AWESOME!!!!!!! Did I express myself clear enough????????
sue
Jerry, I don't have a site, but I'll post a couple to the photo forum in a couple of days and send you a link.
Kathleen
Gorgeous! Simply gorgeous!
Kathleen, I look forward to the link to see some of your work.
Thank you,
Jerry
Darius, you wrote "........ just don't forget your gardening friends here @ DG." I hope I will always have the strenth to be me.
However, that strength was tested today as a post I made last night at the "Collectable" section of this DG forum was censored--deleated.
To be brief, I wrote that I was willing to let any of my artwork go for just a little above my cost till December 31 2002. All I would have gotten out of it would have been to make a name for myself through word of mouth.
I guess someone at DG decided you all did not need to know that information even though I posted it under a thread where others had offered collectables for sale.
That, however was not the real test of my character. It was a matter of fairness. You see for almost a year now I have advertised Dave's Garden on my Impressionist Garden web site for free. It is a very active web site and my records show that on average 50 people per week click onto the DG link. If only 1% join that is 5 people per week @ $15 each, which is $75 per week. I would have had to sell 7 paintings per week to make that kind of money for the deal I had offered DG members.
As a result, I discovered something good about myself today, Darius. I did not pull the plug on the free advertisement I do on my Impressionist Garden web site for Dave's Garden and it had a lot to do with what you said. "...just don't forget your gardening friends here @ DG." It reminded me of what I had written in my DG advertisement and the reason why I will continue to promote it for free.
You can read it for yourself at: http://www.jerrygryniewicz.com/safeplace3.html
Thanks for letting me rant and rave as I do feel better now.
Jerry
PS Looks like I need to update the amount of members in DG!
Jerry, I just emailed you regarding the thread; I am truly sorry I didn't notify you earlier in the day.
Jerry... In the spirit of gardening and friends, please take this as spoken in a friendly voice. I understand your feelings about what happened. I know Dave tries very diligently to keep this a non-commercial site and it was probably just a guideline thing. Your response above may get deleted also, but don't judge any of it as personal, okay? I'd also guess that since your art is on a commercial web site, that was a factor.
However (and regardless of all that), the numbers you crunched for DG membership do not quite equate to the $ amount you assumed. I'm not sure what % of our 16,614 members are actually paying members (and, it's none of my business anyway) but I feel confident it's quite a small %. Many people seem to join on the limited membership which restricts full access (and participation) to all the forums, but does give them full access to the plant database, garden watchdog, etc. for FREE.
If all 16,614 members were paying members, Dave would have a tidy income from his efforts here! At best, he probably is lucky if he gets enough to pay for the server, never mind for all his time. I'm sure he could take banner ads, too, but then DG would lose the 'family flavor' we all love. (BTW, I think many of us here either 'advertise' or at least link to DG on our own web sites without considering whether Dave 'owes' us. I do it because it's MY garden too.)
And, it is not only "I" who lets you, in your words, "rant and rave", it is ALL of us here who try to keep this a pleasant place to visit and still lets us express personal opinions without creating a lot of controversy.
You are a talented young man, and I urge you to get past this episode pleasantly. If you do have any disagreements, please email Dave personally, okay?
I am reminded of The Four Agreements:
Be Impeccable With Your Word.
Don't Take Anything Personally
Don't Make Assumptions
Always Do Your Best.
Gently,

Thanks for the explanation and it makes much sense. Most of which I did not realise. Also I thank go_vols for the e-mail and this is now past me and am grateful too. For If I would have been let to do what I thought was a good idea it would have ended up putting me in the poor house.
Jerry
Jerry, thanks for providing a gracious conclusion. Once again, I do apologize for not taking the time earlier today to email you; if nothing else, this served to remind me just how important it is to communicate promptly.
Please accept my best wishes on your work - it's quite beautiful (Monet is my all-time favorite artist, and your photos really struck a chord :)
Thanks for sharing! Glad you are successful!
Hi Jerry, I must have missed this thread when you first started it. Have been wondering if you would get back again. Glad to see you here. Hope you will post a picture or two of your gardens some time, even though you have them someplace else. They make us want to do more.
Shirley
I just bookmarked your site and it looks like a great rainy day project for me. Lots of stuff there. Thanks for giving us the link.

Hi Brugie, long time no see. Yeah I made it back again but didn't mean to cause a stir! :-) It was all my fault though as I thought the forum "Collectibles" was a place where DG members offered collectibles.
Ok Shirley I will try to make time this weekend to post a few pictures from my garden. Hey let's make it fun! What color of flowers do you want in the (2) pictures? It will make it easier for me to choose a picture to post because I like them all. These will be the original pictures from which my art work comes from.
Thanks for bookmarking my Cyber Monet site. Yes you are right, the flowers there can make a rainy day special. However, may I suggest that the next time you have a stressful day or have a headach, a viewing may be helpful. I've been told that the flowers there have the power to soothe the soul and bring a warm smile to your heart.
Well Brugie, so nice to run into you again.
Jerry
Thanks Golddog! However, if I was that succesful, I don't think I would have gotten in trouble with my past post about my artwork. I think when it comes to the art world, I am still waiting to be discovered. Between my gardening and art it is kind of like being a rock artist tring to cross over to country. LOL!!!
Hey Bill, I was impressed with the amount of work you have done on your web site "Informal Garden" Great pictures and information. It reminded me of the name of this thread "To Grow A Flower Is To Be An Artist" You are quite talented my friend.
Jerry G.
WOWZERZ JERRY! They are beautiful!!!
Thanks so much for sharing them!
I forgot who it was that asked that I share a few pictures of flowers from my garden. It took me a while but posted one yesterday.
