It's snowing ...

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Again!!

This is depressing. I took an extra day off from work to get out in the garden. Freezing rain and cold yesterday - and now it's snowing. For crying-out-loud it almost May!!

MD &, VA(Zone 7b)

I sure hope you don't get much! I'm getting ready to head up there :( Course they will probably get twice as much as you where I am going, they always do :(

Not a nice thought to go from nice sunny warm weather here to snow up there.

Midland, PA

Oh No - Hang in there Poppysue - it will end soon. (((((Poppysue)))))

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I'm sure it won't last long. We've actually had a mild winter this year but spring has been wild. 80's one week & 30s the next. At least we're getting some water that we desperately need. Even if it is frozen water - LOl.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

Oh Poppy my heart breaks for you!!! We are really cold here also but mostly just freezing rain or sleet! My bd is this week and I wanted a nice warm sunny day-ha ha on me!!!
Will it ever go away!?! Its almost May now come on wheres the spring warmth!!!????!!!
Sending warm thoughts to poppysue to melt all that snow!!
shooo now go away-hit the road snow!!!!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

so sorry poppy!!! your beautiful garden will be blooming all over before you know it!

Panama, NY(Zone 5a)

Here too. I keep telling myself it is just a generalize halucination...........

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

It's stopped for now. Now if the sun will come out maybe I can get something done today.

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

So sorry Poppysue and Kathleen. Spring does seem a long time coming, even for us!!

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Yikes, and here I want to complain about the heat. It was 90 degrees yesterday. You can't walk outside for even a few minutes without breaking a sweat. I would love to see snow just about now. :)

Cleveland, OH(Zone 5b)

I played hooky from work today in the hopes that I could do some much needed work in the yard. But, it's cold and raining. Oh well, guess I'll go to the garden center. They are having a sale on perennials. $.74 each. Wish me luck!

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

Sorry to hear about the weather, we have been having that in WI too. Sleet a few days ago, but up in northern WI they got several inches of snow. It was warmer in January than it has been this spring. Actually we have had all four seasons within the last 6 weeks-garden and gardener having Hard time. This seems to be hitting so many states-should make for interesting gardens this year.

markleysburg, PA(Zone 5a)

Snow once in awhile here also. 76 and heavy rain and wind yesterday and 36 and drizzle mixed with snow today. MArch arrived late it seems

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Isn't this the strangest spring? If this is the kind of spring we are going to get after a mild winter, I'll take a cold winter and a normal spring anyday.

Plymouth, PA(Zone 5b)

Poppysue I am sorry to hear its snowing there But please keep it there we don't want it.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Sue, I'll split the difference with ya!! It's 92 degrees outside right now!! I figure that way we both could have 65 degree days, and wouldn't that be grand weather to garden in??? I'm really starting to think we skipped spring and going straight into summer......hate to think what July and August will be like.....yikes!!!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

poppysue, it is not any better here In Germany. We have from all of it, thunder, lightnings, hailstorms, hurricanlike storm, snow, temperatures falling 10°C within 10 Minutes. Having 14°C, after the next thunderstorm only 4°C.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

If you two split the difference and want to garden in 62 degree weather come on to my place! I'd love to have you living close by :~)

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

It's real strange, worrying about the plants getting too hot at my end and then too cold at the other end of their journey. Central Texas usually has a short spring, but it has been a mere blink of the eye lately. This year, I think I missed it when I took a cat nap one afternoon. So many things need to be planted out, but the brutal sun has already cooked all of the annuals I put out a week ago. The nice clouds shielded them for only a day. And it's not even May! This may be the earliest I have ever turned on the a/c.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

We have had the A/C on one day and the furnace the next here in Iowa. You guys out East........hang on, I don't think it is over yet. Wed. or Thurs. our lows are to be 33 degrees. It will be coming your way after that. I'm like JoanJ. Would rather have the normal winter and then a nice spring. Monika, I'll bet you are hating the weather since you have such a short time to garden. Well, I wonder what tomorrow will bring? Almost hate to ask that.

Cleveland, OH(Zone 5b)

Well, I went crazy at the garden center. Bought 2 each of 40 different kind of perennials. Now if only the weather will start acting a little more like Springtime.

(Zone 8a)

We always jump from winter to summer here in Al...It has been in 90's a couple weeks ago and one nite down to 45 and back up again! We should be in the 70's and 40's this time of year!

Makes you really wonder what is happening with the weather!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Poppy, I hope you were able to get a little gardening done today. Same weather here. 30's yesterday with snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Today snow and rain mixed. At least we didn't get the 6-9" they predicted on the news.

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

It has been up to +10 C on daytime here for about 2-3 weeks, and not snow anymore.

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

Just got +32 C in the sun by the way.. :]
