Flower bed designs

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I need some help if you can. I would love for any of you to email me pictures of your flower beds if you can. I've been working on designing some all winter, and am still very confused as to what I want. I'd love to see pictures of what you have done. I've looked at magazines, books and the internet, but I'd love to see something that's more do-able for me and doesn't cost a fortune to build. I'm not so concerned about the actual flowers that are in them yet, but more the shape, how they are bordered and things like that. I have many things growing in the house now that need a new home soon and I'm still not even close to figuring out what I want to do for sure. I have 5 totally unlandscaped and very flat acres to play with, so I'm open to any suggestions and pictures that might help me figure something out soon. I'm real good at looking at a picture and making it work, but I do not have a creative enough mind to think something up totally from scratch.

Thanks for any help or pictures you can send this way.

Thanks Margaret, I'll go take a look. I really need to figure something out soon before these plants take over the house.

This is a link in my journal. It's my side yard - we rented a sod cutter to remove the sod around my beds. The gardens were already in place.

Thanks Sue. I'm off to take a gander at your gardens now.

Margaret, I printed 7 pictures from your posts. Thank you so much.

I need to figure something out soon, as I have a whole kitchen full of plants that need to find a home outside soon. The weekend after next, I'm going to be home alone and hopefully I'll have a plan in mind so I can dig all weekend and build a home for these babies.

I appreciate all your help so very much.

Shirley, I got your email. Thank you so much! I see that your yard is much the same as mine with trees bordering, but not many inside the yard. I love what you have done. The border by your veggie garden is definitely going to get done here, since my veggie garden just kinda sits out there in limbo. This will really tie it into the yard.

Sue, your yard is also much like mine. I have pasture and grain fields bordering me, and I think I see that you do too. Great ideas here too, and you have done so much with a lot of space. You have trees though...I'm jealous of those. LOL

Thank you all so much. Please keep them coming. I'm getting inspired and have found lots of things I can do. I love looking at other's gardens for ideas and inspiration.

I'm loving this and really looking forward to my weekend 'home alone' so I can dig some more dirt and make this huge yard a garden.
