I have the builders in - doing what should have been done in the first place. It's pandemonium!! The worse possible scenario and dust everywhere!! They are converging on me slowly but surely so won't be able to get to the puter sometimes. I'll try and pop in between 'jobs'!! Just so you know where I am!! Think I'll just round up the cats and DH and go to Dodge City!! Isn't that what ya'll say - lol!!! Or is it outa Dodge!! hee-hee!!
Disappearing for a while
My silly little English woman! One "gets the He** out of Dodge"! LOL Can't you just build a tent around your computer?? I will miss you! I am glad you are getting things straightened out though.
Love ya. Hurry back!!!
poor girl!! I wish you didn't have to go through this, and I sure hope the kitties handle it well.
I like the tent idea!!!! we'll miss you.
Louisa, my thoughts are with you during this uphevel....
Hey girl, get the heck outta Dodge, and come bunk at my homestead fer a piece!
Then we can have us a hoedown till the cows come home to Cadillac Ranch!!
"eyes"
All the best Louisa,
I know how you feel, we did it last year, dirt, dust, workmen everywhere......See ye later
All the best
Wintermoor
I have horrible news for all of you. Louisa has left her home for a brief spell. She was last seen laying in the meadow snorting Rhodos and petting ferns. From time to time she does get up to skip around the yard giggling with glee as she smiles in the delight of the new plants she has found. While her home may be full of sweaty men, spreading dust about (I might be jealous), her landscaping is surely taking shape. :)
Could the men in Louisa's home
be hunky, sweaty, men? :-)
That could be entertaining! LOL
'Reminds me of the roofer we hired
years ago. A friend of mine
wanted to set up lawn chairs
(in the yard) just so she could look at him!
He was pretty cute. ;-)
Well I got the heck outa Dodge and I'm back sooner than expected. I sent the guys packing!! They did two bedrooms and I couldn't take it any more. So the rest of the house is going to do without the drywall work!! But there is much to do yet. It's going to be a saga!! Tomorrow we are having a rest from it all - it's soup kitchen day!! Friday they are back to start some painting, then work on the wood floors and then....... you don't want to know!! No, Chele and OscarD not hunky men!! A little guy who looks as though he just stepped out of the shower no matter what he did. Very neat and clean with beautiful nails!!! I think they call him the foreman, in England we say the gaffer!! The other was the worker!! I mean a worker - with a terrible cough from years of doing this kind of stuff. He did a great job but I felt sorry for him as he battled the dust. So the puter room is safe for a little while longer but will be off limits from time to time. Jerrie is the offer still open??? Thanks tig, Pebble, Wintermoor and all of you for your kind wishes and the funnies too, especially the funnies!!! "If I had a hammer, I'd hammer in the morning, I'd hammer in the evening all over this land......dumdumdedumdum......
Oh dear Margaret...we will certainly miss you. And on the way to Texas, stop in NC for awhile. We would love to have you and the cats! Hurry Back!
lol vic - I don't think Jerrie could put up with me for long!! What do you mean hurry back?? Hurry back from Texas or hurry back to DG? I'm back - for a while anyway!! Actually I think that you are nearer to me than any other DG friend, apart from Carol!! Wow what a lovely lady you are inviting the cats too!! Sheesh that's amazing!!!I wonder how second-in-command would feel about that!! lol!!
ooooooooo lousia ....i am so glad you are back,,,,,,
i missed you ,,,,,,[[[[[[[[nana]]]]]]]]] i am coming
up there with my hammer if I have too lol ,[[[[nana]]]]
nana I was only 'off the air' for about half a day...lol!! There was a change of plans!! A drastic change!! I told the men to stop work!! :-)
Gosh Lou, If my workmen were skinny and clean, I don't think I would be too happy! Now, if they are all bulky and sweaty and look like that guy in the old soda commercial....bring on the dust! LOL You know I really do feel bad for you. Hugs.
Yep Chele - that's what I mean!! Too clean to be true!! The other one though - bless his heart, really took some punishing stuff. That's the difference between workers and shirkers!! It's quiet today!! Worked at the church!! Worked hard and enjoyed every minute of it. It was good to get out of the house but tomorrow is starts again!! However, it's stopped raining and tomorrow promises to be a lovely day, so I will just go out into the garden for some peace and do what I like doing best. Might even find another treasure huh!! :-)
Hi Lousia
Sounds like you have quite a mess on your hands, Hope things are back to normal soon.
Mike
Thanks Mike!! Speaking quietly in case the dust billows up again!! :-)
Now I know why I got the answering machine when I called you a few minutes ago, Louisa!!!!
"eyes"
lol Jerrie!! I did phone you back but you were not there!! In the end you got me though!! haha!! The first Texan voice I ever heard. Lovely!! :-)
Hey Lou, I just figured out who left you that message! ROTFL
Taking a swift 5 mins before the builder calls me again - or DH for that matter!!! Chele - I played Jerrie's message over and over before I caught the 'eyes'!!! She really does have a very sexy voice :-)
I don't know about that, now Mags.....that might be pushing it a bit.....LOL!!

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder - a voice is music to one's ears, especially from one's friends!!

Louisa, are they done then?
Pebble - not nearly done!! You don't really want to know!! :-) Most of the work is confined to the first floor now, so I'm up here in my own little hideaway!! Any news? Mail me sometime!!
no news yet
Hang in there - thanks for the mail!!
Louisa, I know what you are going through. My parents have just finished remodeling their 150 year old house. My dad did it (mostly) by himself. It started last August. they had to drywall the entire thing (walls & ceilings). Now he just has the roof to tear off & shingle and put up vinyl siding. He has taken a break to go fishing for a while. Everytime (which was often) he had to break a plaster wall, there was all this black soot. Not to metion the drywall dust. We are still finding it in little nooks & crannies. They just put the carpet in last week & it really looks great. nothing like the house I grew up in! Take care & try to muddle through, it will be over sometime! Julie
Thanks Julie - it really is a headache........and now sheesh!! Really disappearing - one heck of a storm here. Wish me luck!!!
Editing to say that I'm sorry I rushed off like that Julie - a huge clap of thunder was aloft and the lights dimmed - thought I better close down!!
I have a new house, one year old, botch job!! Unlike your parents who are lovingly restoring a beautiful home no doubt. It must be such hard work but the end result will probably keep the house going for another 150 years. I doubt very much that this one of mine will be able to stand the ravages of time!!
