Just had to tell

Largo, FL(Zone 9b)

Hi All,
As some of you know, I operate on a very limited income. I've been trying to get my yard in shape a little at a time. I decided to give up on grass and cover the yard with cedar mulch and then to try to fill it up with plants. I bought 7 bags of mulch at a time and then waited till I could afford more.

Yesterday, a woman stopped in front of my house and told me how good the yard was looking and we talked for a while. She invited me over to see her yard this morning. When I got there, it was like heaven...gorgeous! Then, she took me into the back yard and she had boxes of cuttings she had taken for me!! She had written down all the instructions for how to grow and care for them. I can't believe how lucky I am...feels like Christmas!

I now have some wonderful things (including a butterfly bush and 2 blue sky vines already rooted !!)and I feel like I'm very blessed.

Thanks for listening,
hatch

It's nice to know you have someone thinking about you in the neighbourhood, even if up till then she was a complete stranger.

Good luck Hatch

Hatch - How wonderful!! Gardeners are such generous people. I think it's part of the addiction - we just want to share the enjoyment our plants bring us. No one else appreciates them like another gardener.

That's so wonderful. I am sure she will enjoy seeing her garden continue in yours. Sounds like you both have new garden buddies. Enjoy!
