Would it be fraud...

I got a notice today that I have been pre approved for a mastercard...it is for Mrs. Zany Muse! What a hoot, but would it be fraud to use it? And if I did who would be responsible for paying it off...Me or Zany ?

I tore it up of course and burned it but it made me laugh. Why do people steal credit cards when they can just get one sent preapproved to a fictitious name!

The sad part is that they were going to give Zany a lower interest rate and a higher limit than mine :~P

Hey, a few years ago, my daugter, 5-6 at the time got a pre-approved card in the mail. Her's had a better interest rate and higher limit than mine too. LOL I considered letting her use it, but didn't want to ruin her credit rating at that young age! ROTFL

I am not sure but I signed up at a real estate site for assistance looking for a house. The must have sold their listings because I am now getting all sorts of mail for Mrs. Zany Muse. She gets discount coupons for cigars and invitations to grand openings of stores in other states as well as casino offers and air fare package deals. Now she seems credit worthy and can go shopping too. In fact she gets so much mail these days that if a package is addressed to her without a street number it makes it here anyway. The local postmaster and the delivery driver both think it is a hoot!

Hah! you remember the old all in the family show where the dog got a credit card in his name and they used it. lol Our dog got one too a few months ago all I could think of was that show on the way to the garbage to cut it up. I was laughing so hard. Glad nobody was home to hear me. rofl

Well, shoot, if a dog can be ordained as a minister online, why shouldn't he have a credit card, too? That's a lotta doggie treats and chew bones!

What amazes me is that if I apply for a card they want my ssn # and entire life history but Ms. Zany Muse can get preapproved for thousands of dollars with no history at all!

So Eyes, hang in there and maybe you and ol Snockers can come shoppin with Zany!

Geez, that's odd...and for me quite aggrevating. I know it's funny...but how people get the name to put on there in the first place is what gets me. They had to have done some work to find that name and send it to your address. Maybe it DID come from the real estate thing. If it did, I think I'd be calling them up and chewing them out for giving away my information and being careless with it. I hate that. Goes right along with "charities" calling my house. I have to wonder where they get my number, since it's unlisted. They act as if you slapped them in the face if you won't give anything, but they keep calling every year. You know what, if they're so upset about me not giving, why don't they just not call me so they won't have to get upset in the first place! Geez. I just hate privacy thieves...lol Drives me nuts.
