I know some of you here use Ebay so I hope you don't mind me asking as question.
If you were to give any advice on selling and item on Ebay what would it be?
TIA
Baa
Qu? for those who use Ebay
A photo of the item is a must. You will get more bids with a photo of the actual item.
Be sure to be clear on your shipping and handling terms and payment methods accepted.
Give as much info about the item as you possibly can in the description.
Make sure you run the auction so it goes over a weekend. Weekends get more hits as more people are online.
The "buy it now" feature is becoming very popular also. Last week when I listed my camera, I offered the "buy it now" feature, and it sold in less than two hours and I got the amount I wanted for it.
Amen to all of the above. The only other advice I could offer is to make sure you give some thought to the title of your listing. I have started watching the gardening books on eBay. Unless I'm really bored and have a LOT of time to browse, I rarely bother to look at an item listed as "Gardening book". Give me a title and author, and if it's what something that sounds interesting, I'm all over it.
That sounds like great advice! Thank you both :)
Also, be sure you build your costs into your price (i.e. your price should be high enough to cover your expenses and provide some profit, yet low enough to entice bidders). If you are just selling things you already own, that's not as important, but I also buy things then resell them. I have to make sure I'm not only recouping my costs, but also making money. Otherwise, I'm just helping the Post Office make their money. :)
Good point Smilin! Thank you :)
