Found an Interesting Site

Found www.mapquest.com just looking for a map of the area, and noticed that there is a tab where you can get a satelite picture. The kids and I have had fun all evening, we were able to find our house, my mom's house, and several friends homes, too. The satelite pictures must have been from last summer (the trees have leaves!) You just type in your address, it will open to a normal street map, there is a tab at the top for an aerial photo.
We enjoyed it, I thought some of you might, too.

Where's the satellite picture button? We are in the country rather than a town, so I don't know if that makes a difference. I put in our 911 address and it showed where we live with a red star, but I couldn't find a satellite photo. I wish I could. It might help me with my landscaping plans/problems.

The maps are pretty odd there by the way they have odd places that are not the most popular or biggest ones, like Röylä, Soukka and Otaniemi. They're all part of Espoo. :]

Joan, It should be just under your address, where there are two tabs, one says street map and the other aerial photo. Click on that, then on the right side there is a scale, click zoom in and Wow!

That's strange, 'cuz I don't have that option. These are the only two options I have:

Map a New Location Get Directions To This Location

Oh well, I guess they haven't done the rural areas yet. Thanks anyway.

Joan I tried it too but it wasn't given me the option. Guess we are just too 'country' and this is a new development. Debbie great idea though. Think I will try my son's addy in Chicago!!

For maps (to see where my friends live for example) I use Yahoo Maps. http://maps.yahoo.com - it 'works' with MapQuest =) And there's also map searches for some more important European countries.
