Morning Glory seed question?

Hello everyone,

Can anyone tell me if the MG seeds are supposed to float when you soak them?

I have 5 seeds soaking (floating). I thought seeds should sink not float. Should I keep waiting ore is it hopeless?

HI,

Yes, they are okay...just wait and they should swell and just plant them...Did you nick them? Sometimes some of them needs nicking so the water will penetrate the hard seed coat!

If they don't swell then you will have to nick them!

I never soak or cut my MG seeds. I have started them indoors and outdoors. Guess I've just been lucky ...

Grannylois...I usually plant them right in the ground and they pop up nicely but if you soak them first they will pop up faster and some will need nicking too...like the yellow ones!

Just my experience with mg's...

I've never grown the yellow ones. When I do, I will make sure to use your method. I have to admit I am a very impatient person, so the sooner they germinate, the better! I had real good luck with the heavenly blues last year, and I've done some mini-MG's (blue) in the house this year. Can't wait to see them bloom.

this is the first time trying to grow MG, the envelope sais
HUGE MorningGlory white blooms.

lets see if they germinate.

Are they Pearly Gates? They are bigggg!

I don't know. the label just sais HUGE ( I MEAN HUGE )

If they germinate, grow and bloom for me I will post a picture.

Well...we are having a catagory on the ugliest too! LOL
