My neighbor says she saw her first Hummer on Sat, April 6th. I've had my feeders out for a week but haven't seen any yet. I know they send out their scouts here in No. Georgia about the 1st. Anyone else have them yet?
Hummers Are Back!!
Nope. Not yet
Here in this part of Ga, I usually don't see them until at least June or so. They are my favorite!!
last week we had one this week the 2nd feeder went out. :) i saw 6 flying around my head lastnight. they are so funny when the feeders get low they look in my door to see if we are coming with more food. last yr we had a few nesting here.
Well, one thing about it;if you don't have hummers yet in your area, the butterflies also enjoy coming to the feeders.
Go to www.hummingbirds.net and click on the migration map. This will give you sightings and you can track their progress North.
They've been sighted North of me,but I've yet to see one.Mine usually arrive the first week of April,so they're a little late here.
None here yet, I need to put out my feeders. We have had too many frezzing night here so I haven't put my feeders out yet.
I didn't see my first one last year until the last of April.
I have had them since March 30. I even saw a ruby throated, which I don't usually get.
Tig you must be following me LOL
I got a break from cleaning my mom's house, and felt talkative. when the baby isn't here, I have no one else to talk to!!!
See Tig I knew it you Were LOL
I saw my first hummer yesterday and he is back this morning so put out the feed. I told dh several wks ago that I needed to stock up on sugar as it would soon be time for them.
I saw first hummer two weeks ago and now we have three hummers. Today bought me two new hummer feeders... OH I am soo excited.. We have red throated hummer here.. I bought several red flowers and planted around here...
We were over at my son's and I was putting in a bed of datura for my DIL and my wife was sitting in the garage with the door up and one came in the garage twice. My DIL was going to Walmart to get a feeder today. I guess I better clean mine up and fill them up.
Got em' back over a week ago and filled their feeders...
Ya know now that I think about it, I "think" I remember seeing something go wizzing past me the other day. But I thought it was probably one of those big ole bumble bees that we have here. But it very well could have been a hummer after all. I guess I will get out the feeders and at least fill them up. Will let ya know when I see my first one. Maybe since GRC and tiG have seen some....maybe they will make their way over to villa rica.
we have them fighting already!
Saw my first one today! Ran in and cleaned my feeder and put it right out. Hooray springs here!
Anna's hummingbirds is here all year round. 2 pairs keep me company as i tend to the garden. they are very playful, i'd say >^ ^< . this is how they look... http://www.portalproductions.com/h/annas.htm
