Is anyone interested in wandering to my "neck of the woods" for a little visit? I'm in Montgomery, AL and we built a screened in porch on the back of the house which is very well suited for a gathering of gardening buddies. :)
Whether you come for the tea and home-baked breads, the chance to swap plants with fellow gardeners, or just to chat awhile, I think it might be nice to get together.
This is just an idea at this stage. I want to know if anyone is interested before I actually start cleaning my house. :)

Plant swap in AL
LOL!!! I'm there! can't wait:)
Lets make a deal, I'll come to yours, if you'll come to mine!!
Sounds good I would love to come.
we're going to be going out of town one weekend next month, probably early May. I hope I get to come to both!
I would love to come, but it really depends on which weekend it is. We are so busy now.
Ok, how does May 18th sound? It's a Saturday right in the middle of the month. Anyone who wants to is welcome to stay the night, too. We have an extra bedroom (daybed with trundle). You can show up anytime, but we'll schedule the swap for early afternoon.
Azalea, You let me know when you plan one and I'll be there. :)
Also, I have a friend who owns a nursery/landscaping business. I plan to have her come over and talk to us about "Plants native to the South" and "Herbs", her favorite topic. :)
I may actually be able to come to this one!! Our busiest weekend is Mother's Day weekend.
Yipee! Ok, that's one person who can make it that weekend. :) Who else thinks that date works?
I'll be there
I'll be there
No problems in sight, count me in!
That's great. Now, you will have to tell me what plant goodies you're looking for. What's on your list of "wants" this season?
~Carla
Oh Carla - it just hit me! I really would like to come, but checking my calender, May 18th is the annual Geranium Festival here. Have had a booth there for the past 2 years and sent in my $60. to reserve one for this year way back in Jan. so I just can't make it - so sorry.
Azalea,
I know you're disappointed, but don't worry. I will be sure to set aside some plants for you. :)
You are too sweet - but tht wouldn't be fair to the others. But if you tell me what to send, maybe I can do that - I can send some with TIG or mail to you.
Ok, I need a head count for this Saturday's plant swap. tiG, I've heard about all the plants you have potted up, so I'm hoping you bring them all here to swap. :) I have dozens of things, too, that I have potted up to swap.
I'll send directions via email as soon as I know who all is coming.
Plans are to go to a friend's nursery and learn about native plants and herb gardening. (It's close enough that we can walk through my neighbor's back yard and into the back of the nursery. :)
I can't come. Our managers neice is getting married that day and I HAVE to stay and help at the green house. May is just such a busy month for us too.
Ok, well this just isn't meant to be this month. I'll try again this fall. :) I completely understand how things can come up and get in the way of all our fun.
Hey, the good news is that I have half of my house cleaned. My husband even vacuumed yesterday. Yippppeeeee!
