I am forced to revise my prediction

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

If the population continues to grow at the current rate, my original prediction is off by about 10 days. I think we will reach 10,000 between 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. Friday of this week.

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

Sheesh Aimee how come your brain works so well in the early hours of the morning.. lolol!!!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Yes on the early hours thing. I'm still trying to find the miscellaneous forum for the subscribers only and can't find it. Any help here on that one.

Brugie,

Go to this page: http://davesgarden.com/forumpreferences.php

and check off all the forums you are interested in.

Note that toward the bottom you will see the "Parking Lot". That's the members-only forum. Make sure that it is checked and you'll be off and running.

Dave

Thanks Dave......

Hehehe, Margaret, I am a true nocturnal! Some people just tolerate the wee hours, I relish being awake and doing things then. It's when I reach my peak. Diurnals probably reach the same peak around 8 or 9 A.M., but that's when I need to be sawing logs. My system begins to awaken about the time the "normal" world is winding down. For those who scoff at astrology and similar schools of thought, I was born in the year of the cat, a classic example of a nocturnal. I always knew the night held a certain appeal for me, but I didn't always realize it was influenced by the stars and all of the universe was in on it from the moment I was born.

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

lolol!! OK Aimee - you've just let the cat out of the bag!!! Always knew you were really an owl!!!!!!!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Sniff, I wanted to be a cuddly little kitten. But owls are supposed to be wise. What is the little verse about a wise old owl sitting in a tree, and the more he listened the more he heard, wish we could all be as wise as that old bird? I think I just mutilated it, I need a little help here. Maybe wisdom needn't include a good memory?

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

But Aimee kittens sleep at night!! It's their mums who do not!!!! As for wise....well like I said, you are an owl!!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you, Louisa, now will you spread the word? My wisdom seems to be a little less appreciated than I would like in some quarters. What a perceptive student of human nature you are, my dear. Such insight! You are gifted.

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Aimee, I am watching the population rise & measuring it against your prediction. If your prediction is accurate, I must send you something as a reward!

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

I think it will be 10000 tomorrow from 12:00 to 22:00... I wish it will not change to big nimbers when I am in Helsinki :] Dave, do you have decoration and balloon gifs ready? =)

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

I just realized that I should have said my time, which was what I used in calculating my prediction. Can I clarify now?

se qld, Australia

Aimee, Nup, you're too late. I'm guessing at about midnight tonight Dave's time.

Pam

Drat! You are a hard one to deal with!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

I think it's going to be a close call, I'll just say Saturday 4/6 between 7am and noon dave's time

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm crushed! Did the holiday slow it down? Okay, my prediction was off, but I'm not leaving this keyboard until it hits 10k!

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

9996.... oh no it will be 10000 surely when I am not here, bohoo.... someone make a screenshot when it is 10000, ok?

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Wish I had a camera! My 35mm doesn't even have film. I'm sorely tempted to dash to the store, which will be open about 10 more minutes. I am actually too embarrassed, because I am already more than five hours off. Louisa, that's what comes of early morning thinking!

MaVie, a picture would be nice! I just can't leave with only three more to go. Trying to do other things in the room and keep glancing at the monitor, and I am sleepy for a change. Any other time, I would be wide awake, but just when I want to stay awake, I can't. Maybe I'll get a few things put away in the room to keep myself busy for a few more minutes.

I took Gardenwife's advice to heart and had DH sign up ~ he's "Skinny Kenny". It just so happened that he was the 10,000th member! OOO-EEE-ooo-ooo! Is that weird or what?! When I logged out to sign him up, it said 9,999 (I checked on another page I happened to have open right before I logged out). As soon as he signed up and I logged back in it said 10,000 members as of Saturday, April 6th, 2002, at 2:24 AM (EST)!! Woo-hoo! I saved the entire page as an .htm file and tomorrow I'll figure out how to post it for all to see.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

So close Aimee! I missed it, too! It was at 9996 or 9997 when I went to bed after my sister joined last night. Then, I wake up at 4:00 a.m. EST & wonder, did it happen? Couldn't help but get up to check & yep, there it went, right by 10,000 & now its already at 10,003!

Wingnut, way cool that your DH was 10,000! Does he get a free t-shirt? Or, maybe you should get the t-shirt for signing him up ;)

Whose ready to predict 100,000 ~ LOL...

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

maVie, Screenshot are done like... press Print Screen, go to Paint (or some other photo program) and press Ctrl + V or select 'Paste'. And then you have a photo of your screen.. ;) Hmm, I knew it will be over 10000 when I come back. I had pretty bad day in Helsinki, blaah. :(

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Wow, Wingnut, what timing! Congratulations. I gave up the ghost at 9997, so I'm not even a respectable owl any longer. But I sure did sleep sound!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

MaVie, thanks for being there. Hope you are sawing logs now, so you can be back in the garden tonight. I will probably be in and out today and tonight, but will be thinking about you sitting there monitoring the garden for us. You are just the best!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Evert,

i do have Screen print, but failed to use it. i must be too tired to even think about it. besides, i do not have a scanner to use... to be able to use. had a rough day too, so don't feel bad, u're not alone.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Aimée... u're very welcome. when i went to bed at 4 a.m., the numbers were 10,004. when i went on an hour ago, the #'s were 10,0017, those #'s are really crunching up... it is now in 10,021!!!! whoaaaa we really are making so much progress, i could hardly catch up with all the new members :D!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

se qld, Australia

Hey, Aimee, do I get a prize for the closest guess?

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)
