Removing Photos

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

Is it possible to remove photos from the photo forum? Now that I know that DG posts are being picked up by Yahoo, I don't think I want my grandson's pictures on the net. Garden photos I don't mind but personal stuff is a different matter!!

louisa,

I deleted 5 posts. Let me know if there are any that I missed.

Louisa, something that might make you feel somewhat better: to non-subscribed members, the photos are thumbnail size, and they can't click on them to make them larger. I understand your feelings; I'm very protective of my kids, too.

Thanks Trish - I think I'm getting paranoid!! But there are some funny people out there!! You too Terry - but much relieved now that they have been removed!!

I understand your concern Margaret but I love seeing the kids and figured that since I am carefull not to say where they are located and no last names (theirs is different than mine) and they all live in different areas than me, It should be next to impossible for any crackpots to find them from my posts. Using a bit of caution I still feel safe showing them off!

It is nice though that Trish was able to remove them for you and set your mind to rest :-)

Granddarling's mother and I are always so torn about making her photos available to family and friends by posting them online or keeping her safe from the weirdos. When she was less than a year old, she was photographed at a professional studio, and they took it upon themselves to print her photo on postcards and other advertising material, and then mailed out thousands, as well as placing them in a "take one" box on their building. Mind you, DD had spent over $1500 for the pictures, so it isn't as if they owned them, and they are one of the best known and most expensive photographers in town. The one they used had been a special gift to Lillian's father, and their actions took away so much of the private joy he had. Sure, a lawsuit could have been filed, but the damage had already been done, the photos were out for the general public to own on postcards. With missing children being in the headlines every day, and with all of the other things we know are done to children, we are always amazed that some people almost demand that we allow Lillian to be photographed as a model. She is very photogenic, but a beautiful child has no obligation to become public property. Margaret, I am perfectly aligned with you and your reservations. It was a good move to withdraw photos.

Aimee it was really worrying me and I shall think twice, or maybe a third time before I post anything in future!! Zany I understand where you are coming from but still think our kids' photos are up for grabs now and I don't want them ending up in the wrong pocket!!

I understand what you are saying and will miss seeing your babies! Guess you will have to fill us in verbally on the darlings!
