The daily quotes - your opinions?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm amazed by the responses in this week's voting booth - I had no idea so many read the daily quotes (I know I do, but I figured I like them because I put them together for Dave; which I did because I happen to enjoy garden-related quotes, LOL.)

Anyway, it appears that some folks didn't know they were available "en masse" under the Extras section: http://davesgarden.com/gq/

So can I get your input please (poor Dave, I didn't even run this by him first!)

a) Did you know the quotes were accessible other than the newsletter?

b) Now that you know (or if you already knew) do you/will you use this feature?

c) If you use this part of DG, what would make it more helpful or fun to read through? They're currently arranged alphabetically, but I'm wondering if I should beg Dave to let you search by author and/or see them sorted some other way?

Terry, I didn't know they were accessible this way, and being something of a quote fanatic, I will definitely use this. I don't really care how it's listed - it's an adventure finding them in any manner.

Yes, I knew they were available and yes, I read them and no, I really don't see a need to be able to sort any other way, but, that's just me. :-) vic

I have already read through them once, but it was some time ago. I decided I like to be surprised by the one at the top of the newsletter. The recent one "Whose woods these are" is one of my favorites, and it was nice to have it greet me. Sent me on a trek through my library, and I ended up reading a lot of poems again, then read some of my quote books. The quotes are nice just the way they are!

I didn't know they were available either til I saw your hyperlink the other day. I spent quite some time reading them! (Never made it thru them all and hope I can eventually find where I left off.)
At the market I have always had a "thought for the day" on a separate chalkboard. Lots of people would always make sure they came by to read it! (They are always of the humorous nature.) I figure DG quotes would be a good source for this summer (hmmm...and maybe at the bottom of the chalkboard I could add "more quotes available from davesgarden.com")!

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

I have been looking at them for awhile now. I don't remember how I discovered them. If it happened before yesterday, that happens with me. LOL I love them the way they are. I am like Aimee, they sent me on a search through some of my treasured books that I haven't looked at for a long time. I like them listed just the way they are. By the way Terry, another job well done my friend.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

I knew they were available but I prefer waking up (or going to bed) to a new one everyday. That way I can savor them one at a time!

Rapid City, SD(Zone 5b)

I'm with Zany - I love the suprise of reading them in the newsletter.

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

I knew they where there and have been through them all. But I like the surprise of not knowing which one will pop up each morning. I think they are fine the way they are but maybe we could keep adding to them.I know that would be hard to do since there are so many already.

If you have some quotes, please send them to me, or post them here. I can view the quotes a little different than ya'll can (and add to them) so I can check for duplicates before I add any more. And I'm always willing to do that :)

Barnyard Thoughts: "If'n ya tie a chicken's legs together...will it still lay an egg?"
Bernie Barnaby and Tripod(the three-legged coondog)as they both sat outside the henhouse. Staring.

Blum, TX(Zone 8a)

I visit the "extras" and I have seen the quotes there, but I didn't realize they were in the news letter. I have quotes coming to me through one of the pop-up ads. and I have been writting down the ones I like, to put on to cards I will be making.
