DEA and glow sticks

so the US gets crazier and crazier by the minute.

The DEA want to ban glow sticks as they mean the person/people carrying them are into drugs and/or high on them. Maybe they will ban gum just in case people are chewing to fast cos they are on speed.

I hadn't heard about them wanting to ban glo sticks! The kids here love to race around at night with them. It is fun to watch them....kinda like Californias version of fireflys!

A lot of bike riders here in the country also use them wrapped to their bikes to make them more visable

It does appear to me that they were NOT banned, and the DEA didn't ban them from the entire US in the first place. They were trying to remove them from one particular dance area in New Orleans, along with masks, and other things.

Interesting reading! I know that drug use is on the rise and all but glowsticks and pacifiers seem to be about as much "paraphanalia" as black lights, lava lamps and incense burners were in the 60's! We also had nipples that fit on wine bottles....silly...YES! Trendy...YES...but paraphanalia? NO!

actualy kids on "E" suck on pacifiers for a reason i was told why but i forget now

They may suck on them to combat dry mouth. But not every kid who wants to look "cool" to their peers and sucks a pacifier is on drugs and they are not using the pacifier to take the drug. I just feel that they need to focus on the drug traffic more and the silly fads less!

this is true also one does not mean the other

All I can say is that, if they made the rule, there must be a reason. I have a very hard time thinking the DEA randomly picked this dance site, randomly picked out those objects, and said "you can't have those anymore." I don't know what the reasons are because I don't live there, nor do I have any experience with teen dance venues. I just argue there must be a reason....

the glow stick, high visability vest, masks and pacifier and ........ have now past here in the UK. we are to blame. some people still continue to do this but it's not seen very frequently anymore.

The DEA have been on all the News programs here and in every dance musuc magazine.

The government here passed a law that says more than 10 people listening to quote "repetitive electronin music = a rave" the cops now have the authority to take away all records, turntables, amps etc and jail the DJ. They do this while crime is on the increase.
