Ebay

I bid on quite a few garden things on ebay, and have often wondered and worried about bidding against a DG friend. I've also seen many others here voice the same concern, and there are many of us that DO bid on ebay regularly.

Would putting together a list of our ebay names be a good idea? Only those who were on the list would get the list, by email.

I'd like some feedback on this. If it turns out to be a good idea, I would be more than happy to collect the names by email and put the list together for us.

Any thoughts on this?

I think that's a great idea, Joan. Although, I sell more plants and such than I buy, so I might feel bad selling to you folks and trading at the same time. :)

I literally have been buying hostas at Walmart and selling them on ebay for anywhere from twice the price I paid up to 8 times the price I paid. Crazy, yes? :)

Not really crazy. There's lots of us that don't have access to some things, and we use ebay to get them. I don't really have a nursery or greenhouse around here, and our Walmart is pretty disgusting in the gardening area. The nurseries and greenhouses we have are more for flowers for weddings, valentines day, funerals and such.

Gardening books are another thing that I can't get here, and ebay is my primary source, along with the angel and cherub figurines that I have been collecting for my yard and gardens. (That's my other addiction). LOL!

You did bring up a good point that I hadn't thought of. Those who sell on ebay. I guess I never thought about that, since I don't.

Maybe it's not such a good idea then? I wouldn't want to hinder anyone's sales. Although, I might be more apt to buy from someone I knew! Ü

I'd love to hear more comments, both for and against.

I mostly sell books on ebaY, and seldom if ever gardening books, or garden things that might interest someone here, so I see no conflict.

My name on EBay is katydid16. I haven't traded anythig here yet, but I do buy on E-Bay. Last year some daylillies, but mostly garden "things", not plants.

I buy and sell on ebay under the name "smiln". Right now, I have a few things up for sale. Since we're going to Disney World next week, I can't have a whole lot up as I won't be here to send it out. :)

I've sold everything from audio tapes to coffee makers, plants, clothes, books...you name it. I have found things at yard sales and flea markets that I've sold on ebay and made a profit.

Some people are so smart! I never would have thought of making a profit on eBay!

I just buy on Ebay, usually X-men videos for the boys that I can't get at the stores. (and rubber stamps). My Ebay name is judoskin.
