ok gang, i have emailed looking for it. will let you know when i do.
Hi Janet,
Received the package today! Replacing the envelope because it's tattered. It will go out tomorrow.
:)
Violet, I'll be watching for it. Getting excited now about finding yet more seeds that I don't have. Hope I can add some that others can use as well.
S.
thanks for the update.
carols was held up because the post office calulated the wrong postage and returned it to her for 25 cents. it will be mailed tomorrow.
Can't wait I found some Veggie and Herb seeds today in the RR envelope.
Not here yet. Violet, did you mail out the day you said? Am wondering where this one is now? We aren't that far apart. Could have sent it pony express and it would have arrived quicker than the USPO can deliver. :-)
Hope it gets here tomorrow so I can get it back out on Mon. morning. Can't wait to see what is in the package.
Shirley
Is #2 napping in New Jersey???Waiting paitently....NOT
It didn't come today either. Might be about time to check up on it. Should have made it to me from MO. in two days. Every day counts now. Gardening is in full swing up here. Hope to see the seeds real soon.....
once again i have put out emails trying to locate them. will let you know as soon as i do. janet
Well, once it gets to me I'll get it 'right' back out, speeding on its way to you crestedchic! John
Thanks John, guess the suspense is killing me!!!
Hi Janet, messaged you this morning!
Hi Brugie,
You're right, has it been that long already?! Post here if you don't receive it within the next couple of days and I will use my own seeds to send out another package.
Violet, if you have to do that, it wouldn't be fair to you. No one can help if the PO messes up. However, if you want to throw some in a package, I'll throw some more in and at least the next person will have something to chose from. I'm just about totally planted here anyway now. Beautiful weather today and supposed to be even better tomorrow. I'll let you know if it comes in or not by Tues. or Wed. Have a good day!!
Shirley
don't give up yet guys. it has only been 5 days. lets wait a little longer before getting to upset. janet
Janet, I don't get upset about much unless it is one of my brugs. :-) Hail storms do upset me a bit, but I'm pretty laid back for the most part. I'm sure everything will be okay. I just thought if Violet sent the stuff out on the 9th, that would be quite a trip from Mo. to IA. :-) Have a good one!! Later..........S
Violet,
Isn't there a big sporting goods store in Springfield? My first husband and I used to go to his parents home in Lebanon, Mo. and fished a lot at Bennet Springs. Seems like I remember going to Springfield to shop at that place. Springfield is nice.
Hi Shirley,
I know it's difficult to be patient. I'm sure it will be on your doorstep soon. It took an exceptionally long time to get to me too. On the round robin I hosted last year, it took one package 5 weeks to show up and another one 2 months! I know it wasn't the traders because we'd had numerous transactions in the past.
Brugie,
I'm going to assume you're talking about Bass Pro Shops Outdoors http://www.basspro-shops.com/servlet/catalog.OnlineShopping?hvarClearAffiliate=yes
Seems to get more large every year too just as Springfield has... what did you fish? trout? bass? Did you have fun?
Violet, we fished for trout several times a year. Loved it and Bennett Springs was such a beautiful place. We were always there on opening day Mar. 1. Kids and all. Our kids are all outdoors type kids. Not much into flowers though. One daughter plants a few, lives in Colorado and does the winter sports and summers at the lake, but the other daughter is only interested in family, fishing, and horses. My son does the hunting and fishing thing. Now, I have to many aches and pains to do much of the fishing even, so I just stick to planting my flowers and vegies. Can't wait for that first ripe tomato. :-) Speaking of vegies, I've got to get to the garden before the winds come up. Couldn't plant carrots yesterday due to winds.
Violet and Janet,
The RR pkg. arrived today. I will have it in the mail and on its way to Joan tomorrow morning (Tues.)
Thanks Janet, for sponsoring this RR.
Shirley
Thanks Shirley, I'll be watching for it, but by the sounds of it, I'll be surprised if I get it before the weekend. I'll post when it arrives.
Where is box number two? It is kind of hard to keep up since I don't know everyone's real name and screen name.
thanks for the update. #2 should be arriving any day now. i will check on it again. janet
I have been told that #1 has alot of duplication in it. Please try and put back in a variety so everyone can have fun with this. thanks janet
I'll see what I can do with it when I get it Janet. Thanks for the heads up. I'll sort through all my veggie seeds and be ready when the package gets here.
I found that most of the dupes were in the "extras for newbies" bag. FYI I didn't include any dupes as you can tell by the swap outs on the sheets enclosed.
violet, i wans't blaming you. duplicates for newbies is great. really no offense meant.
None taken, you and I have a long history of trades. It's just so easy for people to jump to conclusions and immediately think the worst... In your next RR you may want to specify in the instructions that you must replace each "packet" you take out, with a "different variety" of seeds.
It is also very possible that something like the following scenario occurred:
Let's hypothesize and say the package started out with 30 varieties of seeds totaling 30 packets. Someone swaps out 18, replacing the 18 with different varietes. They have extras "in addition" to what they swapped to include in the package. 5 packets each of 3 varieties resulting in a total of 45 packets. The next person receives it and is disappointed by the duplicates, not realizing the package originated with 30 packets instead of 45....
So many variables!
There was a zip lock labeled "extras for newbies" which had dupes. There were also some dupes in the main bag but that's part of the risk you take when participating in a round robin and unless it's specified in the instructions, it's difficult to avoid.
;)

I'm going through everything I have to see if I can replenish the pkg. with some variety. I might have to add some pkts. of partially used seeds, if that is okay.
I'm going through everything I have to see if I can replenish the pkg. with some variety. I might have to add some pkts. of partially used seeds, if that is okay. Took a few minutes here and have added over a doz. pkts. of vegies and 3 or 4 pkts. of flowers. I certainly didn't mean for people to get upset over this. I had some dups that I had thought would be good for the package, but I didn't add them because of there being so many in there already. Didn't even look at the Newbies package. Guess I didn't think I was new since I've been at Daves since last fall. Hope someone can use what I've put in the package.
Shirley, I sent you an email.
thanksbrugie, i hope everyone has fun with this and when i get the pks back i will list all the extras for sase to newbies etc. i sure hope #2 shows up before long. i know how anxious we all are to finish our planting and all and i am looking forward to maybe getting something back tha i do not have. happy gardening to all of you.
On Apr. 4 i wrote Janet, informing her i took THREE packets of seeds namely: chinese radish, pickling cucumber and tatsui. replacing them with Italian parsley, garlic chives, luffa and hyacinth seeds. plus some extra for the newbies. i was the one who place all the seeds for trade in a big zip lock bag, for fear that the big envelope might tear up & the seeds be lost in the process.
the seeds i added were intended to share for variety, not to complicate matters. i had extra seeds i didn't want to go to waste. my thought was maybe someone can use them instead of going to waste. if my positive intention/s was taken as a negative approach, am sorry cause i was raise to give than to take from others.
as previously mentioned, this is my first time to join a round robin, i thought what i did was fair. the list that came along inside the package was a bit confusing to me. i did the best i can by crossing out what i took and replacing with seeds i have at hand. if that was also a mistake, all i can say is i did try my best.
if i may add, hyacinth beans is not considered as flowering seed in the asian community, the hyacinth bean pods are eaten like one would eat sweet peas, either as salad or stir fried. the luffa seeds are also considered as vegetable while they are young. young luffa fruit is used for soup or stir fried added to noodles. once luffa matures, it is dried and used like a sponge cloth, use for bathing to take off the dead skin on human body.
Mae Vi Rose what you did is fine. no problems. please don't get upset because then the rr is no fun for you. we are all in this together and all i wanted was for everyone to enjoy themselves not get upset about this.
if i in any way up set or hurt anyones feelings i really did not mean to. i think of all of you as friends and would never upset my friends.
Janet... i am not upset at all, just trying to explain steps i took, least it was misinterpreted.
to be truthful, i was very excited joining the RR. i was thrilled adding all the extra's i have at hand. i hope others will have fun planting and enjoy the nutritional benefits behind those seeds.
i do understand too that the western world of gardening has so much difference in the eastern or asian gardening. i believe we are all here to learn and share with one another. herbs we grow and plant would be considered a food enchancer in the western world, but in reality in the asian community, herbs helps a lot in numerous body functions, as well as improve the flavor of the food we eat.
there is no way, anyone should get upset... only anxiety [sp?] due to the slow process of the postal system.
you are so right about the post office. sometimes things move very quickly and others it is like they all went on vacation. but at least the rr is moving again.
Great! am keeping my fingers cross that the postal delivery will be more prompt to others who has not receive them yet.
