Found a network connection in the rec room here in the barracks...lol Woohoo!...not as bad as I thought here at Ft Gordon. I should be able to get on in the evening and check mail and so on...but not as much as I normally would. This is much better than I thought though... :)
Snapped a shot of my bed for the next 2 weeks...yippee. It kinda smells in my room...lol There are 6 other guys in there with me...yuck. Oh well, 2 weeks and I'm back to my own bed and wife and cat.
By the way, I knew there was a reason why I wouldn't like living here in the south....SAND! Yikes...it's eveywhere...hehe. Sand is for the beach, not here way away from the beach. I don't know how you southerners deal with all this sand. Seems like it would be everywhere in your house and so on....also makes for very dry soil.

I'm here!...lol...GA
I didn't know red clay was disguising it self as sand. The Ga. I know is not sandy. They must have brought the sand in so the soldiers would have something to keep busy at. Sweeping and cleaning the sand out.
It's completely sandy here in Augusta. Very much so. I have seen the red soil too...but over here it's a bunch of sand. But maybe they did bring it in just to keep us bsuy...who knows. I wouldn't put it past 'em! :)
I was born at LeJune,N.C! Can you bounce a quarter off that bunk? isn;t it nice to have DG where ever you go/
I visit my cousing in Augusta and i didn't find it sandy.
(when I got to this point in my post, my cousin came on MSN...so I asked her)
She said that Augusta was on the platuea where the sand met the red clay....so was a mixture of both! Jo
Hmmm...we must be on the sandy side. It really is sandy here...I promise!....lol
nice bunks. who has the contract to make those? would love to be the one selling the lumber to them - lol
I hve been in augusta several times, the only sand I saw was on the golf course.
I think Jim is right, they must be bringing it in just for you guys.
Nice bed though!!!
