Plant catagories

I have been having a bit of trouble deciding which catagory is appropriate for some plants. For instance, yarrow is a wild flower, perennial, and an herb. What would it be placed under? I know it as an herb, but many know it as a wild flower. Others would consider it just a perennial. Any suggestions for such plants? I've never been good with making choices - it would be easier for me if it was a choice of annual or perennial or I could choose several. There are a lot of plants like this.

I kind of had the same problem. When I put the catnip on the plant database, I chose perennial because it was a perennial herb.
