I love it, too, Azalea.
I keep waiting for some witty definitions by Gardenwife and Zanymuse ...

And just think how Horseshoe and John Yeoman could spice things up a bit (those two should never be allowed in a room together, LOL.)

And then there's the expertise of Brook, Melody, Violet and others on the Heirloom forum.

Or Louisa, Baa, Mark and all who can help us translate "Yank" to "Brit".

But you won't make me start naming names, will you???? Remember in school, it was much better to raise your hand than wait for the teacher to call on you, right?
I'm sure we won't have to resort to such drastic measures (grin) And I'm glad to hear Gardenology is helpful (it sure is to me!!!)

Wow! All kinds of things happen when you get sick. Been flat on my back for a couple of weeks and I miss out on this great addition to DG. I'm still not 100% and my computer time is limited, but I'll start working on this right away!

Thanks vols!

Melody, so sorry to learn you were so sick! Take it easy, don't overdo it, but welcome back.

In just under two weeks, we've filled up Gardenology with more than 1,000 definitions and many new terms.

Many DG members have done a "most excellent" job, adding scores of definitions: talinum, paulgrow, Sugar_fl, Greenwood, Melody, GrannyLois, mystic, Sis, ruby42, Zanymuse, Calalily, flowox, jody, Baa, and several others - way to go! :)

At last count, we have about 225 terms that still need a definition or description. If you haven't found your way over to this feature yet, here's the link: http://davesgarden.com/gardenology/

I hope you'll check it out and "adopt a term" (or two) while you're there *grin*

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

I have added a few definitions but I tried really hard to leave the "zanyisms" out :) I figured that they might put off someone looking for serious info and were more appropriate to Jokes and chat forums. But oh man was it hard to use restraint! Some of those terms are so tempting i felt like a bumble bee trying to go cold turkiy on pollen collecting or a cricket with one back leg trying to make music!

Dave
Anyway we could post pictures in some of the definations.
This would be especially helpful when showing different insects or diseases??

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Paul, I'm sure it's fairly high on Dave's list of to-do's (he and I talked about it a few days ago.) I agree 100% with your suggestion, not only are pictures great for insect and disease identification, but when we're describing the steps of making a paper pot, or pricking out seedlings. As they say, a picture is definitely worth a thousand words.

Yes, we'll get pics in there asap.

Wow, that took longer than I expected. Well, Gardenology is now photos-enabled!

Thanks Dave
It will be a big help.
Check out the entry for Tomato Hornworm
