Don't know where else to announce this so...

I have just been informed that I am to be a step Grandmother!
but I'll just answer to Nana to make it easier on the little one :)
Wanted to share the news with all my new friends :)

The grandmothers club. Imagine that. I can still climb tree's myself!
They had been trying since September to get pregnate so we were starting to silently worry... I guess I better start knitting. Patterns via email are welcome :)

Grandmothers are just mothers with more experience. You are about to have the thrill of your life! You will laugh, you will cry, you will worry, you will rejoice, you will go through every emotion known to humans. And the first time that little baby reaches for you or calls you by any name at all, you will absolutely lose your heart for all time. My granddarling called me "Bama" at first, but later she decided I'm PopPop, gender notwithstanding, and I answer every single time. I think they name us more often than we name ourselves. Congratulations, Grandma! Keep us posted, because we love babies and news about babies.

Terrific news!! Like you, my grandbaby came to me through a stepchild - my husband's daughter. Although my stepdaughter has been mostly indifferent (even hateful) to her dad and me for the past few years she has thawed quite a bit since she had her little girl last October. We've been encouraged to visit and see the baby as often as we like and I feel like I'm really and truly her grandma, not a step-anything!

P. S. (I don't know about anyone else here, but it makes me feel special that you wanted to share your wonderful announcement with us!)

For the record,one of my MIL's was better than most biological grandmothers that I've ever known. She could not bear children but you would have never guessed it,wonderful gramma' She loved all children and miss her terribly' She is in good company with my mother now in Heaven,gone but never forgotten' IMHO Sis'

Happy for you..it will be such fun to have a little one around to play with. My grandkids call me Nana too.
