I found a new plant!!

Antrim, Northern Ire, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

hi all especially Baa

A new sport of Ranunculus ficaria has turned up in my front garden. It's growing among some wild ones that I normally pull out as they can be quite invasive.

I sent a photo away to a nursery who said it should be propagated and named.

wha-hey!!

Whooohoo Mark

Whats it look like? Can't wait till it flowers!

I had a couple of new seedlings which might be worth someone propagating. Let me know what you do with yours please!

I'll have to give it some serious thought.

btw I am also waiting for an answer about a snowdrop I have. some experts have said it should be named also.

Have you seen the National Collection of R. ficaria in Devon? There is a good report on it in Plants magazine.

I like Ranunculus ficaria. They grow here also. I would like to find the R. ficaria ssp. ficaarifolia =) haha

I'll post a photo later

it has silver blotched leaves which are almost symetrical (the blothches!) and a dark, almost black, maroon patch where the leave is attached to the leaf stem
