Question for Dave (cached homepage)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm wondering why when I click on a thread and read a post, the Yes doesn't change to No. I can go back to my Homepage and back to a forum and it still says Yes, that there is a new response. I click on it and no new response. I spend a lot of time checking threads only to find I've already read them. Once in a great while it works right for me, but 80% of the time, it doesn't. Is there something I should change on my end or what? About the only way I can get it to update is if I completely leave the site and then come back. Sometimes that doesn't even work.

If you are just hitting the back button it will do that you have to hit refreash when you go back to get the new updates.Don't know if that will help you any or not!

Brugie, if you're using your "back" key to navigate, the page view won't change to a "No" until you click on "Dave's Garden" or "Home" or the F5 key to "refresh" the page.

what browser are you using? If it's IE, click on tools>internet options>settings and then check the button to refresh/renew page every visit to page.

tiG, I have IE 5.5 and when I go to settings, I can't find anything like you have mentioned above. There are a lot of things in there, but nothing about refresh/renew. Now what?

Okay, I went back and tried the refresh thing and that works if I can just remember to do it. I'm not one that likes to wait on things, so this will help me a lot. Wonder why I never noticed this until just lately? I really am bored, aren't I?

I use the same browser. On the menu at top, click on Tools, then click on Internet Options. On that page, in the middle, click on settings. There are several options under Check for newer versions of stored pages, pick the first one, "every visit to page", then click OK.

Here's another tip... Instead of using the bookmarks (favorites) or back arrow, try clicking on the DG logo in the upper right hand side of the page.

That will force a reload on almost all versions of internet explorer as it takes you to the homepage of DG.

Thanks you guys. Did what you suggested tiG and will also do as Dave says. It isn't like I don't have time to wait around, just my personality that says "rush".
