will I still be Horseshoe?

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

(Hah...Bet that got ya'll attention!)
Dave, this afternoon we are wiping out my whole sytem (hard drive?) and starting over in an effort to get corrupted files and such out of it. (I've saved quite a bit of my files/stories and such to CD so hopefully won't lose the good stuff.)
Question is: By emptying out the drive will it also remove the cookies you need to recognize me? When I get back up and running will I still be able to sign in as usual or will it fail cuz of no cookies? Also, if I have to re-sign up as a new member will a message come up that says "That name (Horseshoe) is already taken, choose another"?

Wish me luck folks....

Shoe,

You'll just need to login again. Do you remember your password? You might want to go to your preferences and change your password to something that is easy to remember.

Then, go clean your hard drive, and next time you hit DG, it'll appear that you are a visitor. Just login as horseshoe and you'll be back in "bid-ness".

Can a lepoard change his spots?
=]

*was going to add skunk! ;]

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

And.....You will always be Horseshoe. "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

hah!!! Ya'll ain't right!
Okay, thanks Dave. Today all we got done was restore my sound (even tho I put a new motherboard in there just a month or so ago I lost my sound recently, and it is part of the motherboard). Sooooo...at least I have I-net access, sound, etc...but no use of my USB ports due to a conflict somewhere.
Next time we format the drive. This will give me a chance to save some more files and such. (am getting pretty fed up here...!)
However, it could be worse!...this machine could be in the shop and me offline for days on end!
Okay, just glad to hear I'm am still gonna be who I think I am and can recognize myself without having to look in a mirror (whoa..now that's a scary thought! lookin in the mirror!)
Now as for a leopard changing its spots or rather "can a skunk change its' stripe"...hmmmmm, why that reminds me of what has gone down in the local history books as "The Dangerously Obnoxious and Very Rude Squirrel of Northern Orange County"...why it forces me to think of the time when I, Yours Truly, ...uhhh, whoops, sorry folks, perhaps another time, eh? eh?

Shoe I have accessed from my new computer here, that has never been here before. KNOW WHAT I MEAN?!
And I am AOK , from either computer! You'll be fine! :)

Shoe, I reformat my hard drive whenever I get a virus I can't get rid of or something is going on that I don't like. LOL! That's just the way I am though. If I can't fix it, I start over. You do have to reload your antivirus and all the programs you were running that didn't originally come with your computer though. It's kind of refreshing too. Gets rid of all that junk that was bogging you down.

One thing I have learned the hard way though, is to save all your files you don't want to lose on a disk first. I also learned to email myself the links in my favorites first. Then they are waiting for you when you get back up and running.

If you know your name is Horseshoe and you know your password, you can always get back on here. You can also access DG from any other computer as long as you know who you are and your password. I get on DG from my work computer too. (SHHHH!!!)

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks Michelle, Thanks Joan...glad to hear all that.
I spent last wkend saving files to CD, so I should be okay in that dept. (I even clicked on all my Favorites, and I have a LONG list of them, and copied and pasted their URL into a file.) Guess I could've sent them to my email but didn't think of it. Oh well, at least the country cogwheels in my cranial cavern turn with a bit less rust on them each time I approach a computer problem! (They don't turn any faster, just less noisily!)

Hey Horseshoe, was that squirrel the same one that went to the Mississippi Revival, the one that went berserk in the First Self-Righteous Church in that sleepy little town of Pascagoula ....

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

HA!...GL, if it wasn't I wonder if they are related!!!
I'd like to hear more of that squirrel!! If you elaborate, I will!!! (I'm giggling here!!!)

Shoe, That is from a recording by Ray Stephens. It is really a funny song. Course everyone knows what a clown Ray is.

Don't know his music taste, but GrannyLois just keeps getting into my mind. I had forgotten about those wacky Ray Stevens songs. Wish I had my turntable fixed so I could hear Old Ahab again.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Glad to see that You are still your true self Shoe! The idea that anyone else could take your name is just plum scarey! As for that Missisippi Squirrel....he is on Morpheus along with about 20-30 other Ray Stevens classics. My Favorite is Frog Kissin....Just slow down, turn around, bend down and kiss yourself a frog!

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I love Ray Stevens. My favorite would have to be Teenage Mutant Kung Fu Chickens. That song was my son's favorite when he was about 6 and we had to listen to it everytime we drove somewhere. I mean, we listened to it over and over and over.....LOL!

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Last year we went to Branson and saw the "Rayster" in person, and he did the squirrel song - now that was a show!!
