Using HTML in posts?

I see that you automatically have your softwear set to detect URLS and make them an active link, but what about using HTML coding for text enhancement, or perhaps to link to a photo on another site? Is that enabled here? I have a few garden shots on Photopoint, and I'd occasionally like to illustrate a point in a post by including a pic. I apologize if this information is located somewhere and I missed it. Thanks!

You can use any HTML tags you want, for the most part, but image attachments are forbidden except in the Photos forum. Reason: I don't want pictures bogging down conversations. This is the reason why the photos forum was originally created.
