I want to thank an angel...

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

I want to thank whoever it was that paid for my subscription! I am SO touched! I've missed this place so much and it's incredibly heartening that someone would do that for me! Last Oct., I had property taxes to pay and the next month this: http://www.moment.net/~wingnut/fall2001flood.htm Then Dec. came and my computer froze up along with the weather. What's this month's setback? (*grin*) I don't know and don't care! The nice feeling I have inside because of my gardening angel friend will carry me through it! :-) :-) :-) Thank you SO MUCH!

Now I'm off to see what I've missed these past few months... :-) :-) :-)

Oh, I missed y'all, too!! Don't worry about it, Terry ~ I can't plant them until spring anyway! :-) Yeah, Ruby, they're everywhere! I just wish I knew who it was so I could thank them personally and send them some of my seeds I've saved this year. But I understand if they want to stay anonymous ~ one of those karmic "rules" is it's better to do nice things anonymously than crow about it. I do hope they see my post and know how much I appreciate them doing that for me. :-) :-) :-) And may it come back to them a thousandfold...

welcome back...just looked at your flood....WOW....how long did it take for the water to go down? Always one thing or another, huh?

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

WING that was just tragedy knocking on your door. The picture with the car in it really shows the force of the water. You are lucky to survived that. Glad you're back and hope things go better this year.

Wingnut, I am so happy to see this post! I thought you didn't like us anymore. Have wondered and wondered about you. You know I have some Texas wildflowers seed if you can use them, and will share whatever else I have. Of course, you probably have some great silt left from the flood, huh? Gosh, it felt so good to come on here and see your name again.

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

Wow! What a reception! HOW NICE!!!!! Thanks so much, everybody! Oh, Aimee, I missed you all, too, extremely much! SO glad to be back!!!

tiG and Marcia, your offer of replacing my plants is so generous! I can't thank you enough for the thought! I'll have to think about it ~ honestly haven't thought much about them yet because I don't want to get sad about the huge Nikko Blue hydrangea that I babied 'til it was as tall as me, the Purple Velvet plant I gave DH for Father's Day, or the horsetail reed and papyrus that were in my antique-coke-box-pond that went floating on down the creek ~ my shiny little gold koi is now "BO-O-O-O-ORN freeeeeeeeee!" ;-)

Sand, it took about two hours for the water from the tank in the field to pass, then the water was still about as high as in the second picture 'til the next day. It took a week for it to get completely back down to normal. Yeah, GRedclay, it was literally knocking at my door! The water got inside and ruined the carpet and a few other things, but thankfully that was all. Y'all notice the car? It's still sitting right there ~ won't start and DH hasn't had a chance to figure out what's wrong with it. My poor little pervertible! It had been nosed in right in front of and in line with the house. The water pushed it over that far. It still makes me go, "Wow..."

I thank God every chance I get ~ seven people lost their lives in that storm, including a 20 year old man from work (RIP, JD). So sad. It truly makes me know how lucky we are to have made it through with no loss of life.
