Panhandle swap-new thread

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

OK...I need to get an idea of how many people are planning to come to the swap. This will give me an idea of how much space we need. This isn't carved in stone. If you think you can make it,say so.If you don't get there no harm done.
I will try to get a digital shot of the market and post it up.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

me if Cala is really coming. Hoping I can stick out my thumb and hitch a ride.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

I'll be there, GLWATCDR.

I'm coming as long as it's before the 27th of March.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I will come too and pick up TiG and Azalea on the way. I've got room for one more maybe if someone in Ga wants to ride with us.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

cala, will you have room for plants???????

Arlene,
Cala has the biggest pickup truck I have ever seen. LOL

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Glory
I can't drive THAT truck, lol. I can't even park it!! I will be driving my Ford Explorer, which has room for 5 (4 comfortably) and lots of plants in the back. We can put the luggage on top, or wear the same clothes two days, hee hee.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

if I do that, would it give me room for an extra plant!! LOL!! Eric!! step up, can you possibly come?????

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

If the Lord's willing and the creek don't rise, I'll be there too. How bout it Jen?

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

jen

Roz and Jen,
We are only going for the day correct....it's a three hour ride for us...one way.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

jen

Jen,
One day is good for me too. I need to get back home and plant what I can before I run off to Australia. Ronbob already mentioned having most of this stuff out of the greenhouse before I left so the sprinkler system can water it.
Yes, I do have a cooler and a raggdy table to put plants on. Oh are we going to have fun!!!!!

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

I want to come just have to blow in the wifes ear a little harder I think

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

Gone2seed,
Sorry I didn't answer earlier. Been gone a couple of days. Boy sure did miss alot. Sure I can meet you. Just let me know when and where. Count me on being there. Also, add 3 other people that aren't on this website, that told me they would like to come. Got a message from Sara over in Pensacola and said she would come. Are we still thinking about a picnic, or do you guys want to get lunch somewhere?? Dee

Crossville, TN

Hello...I just "snuck" in to see what ya'll were up to...this sounds like ya'll are going to have a very good time. I had no idea that so many DG members lived in this area of Florida. As Arlene and Ginger already knows, I will invite any of you that would like to come to Homosassa in Feb, to meet me at Sami's. I plan to fly there to visit for the month of Feb (I moved to AZ from Homosassa). As it looks now, I think it will have to be on a Tuesday, as that is Sami's day off. Email me if you are interested. OH! Kikisdad winters just 20 miles away and they will be there.
Thanks for letting me put this "paid political announcment" on your thread!! *grin* Jo

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Jo, so good to see you. Hey y'all she needs a couple of brugs to go in some Mexican pottery!! Think we could get her "hooked" too?

Paxton, FL(Zone 8a)

I intend to be there. Already told hubby this was happening, well in advance. He'll forget though. G2S, went through Milton Thursday nite about 10:00 and again about 3:00 a.m. Didn't think you would want a visitor then (ha! just kidding. Had to check on my sick youngun. Had to get her to a doctor.) G2S, have you been to that flea market lately? Last few times I went there wasn't anything to it. Use to it did get a little better in the winter months, but I haven't been this winter to know how it's doing.

Has anyone heard from Ms Batt lately...she lives in Florence AL?

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Gingerlily,I havn't been to that market in over a year.Ann
and I plan to ride down this Sunday afternoon and see how it looks.I will take the camera along.

Tim!!!!!!! oh I hope you and Erin can come!!

Susy,
Welcome!!!!

would anyone be interested in some ginger if I brought them to the plant swap? I think it's red tower, sprial, butterfly and etc.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Yes:) I can't wait to see what all comes!!!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Oh gee, I'm going to have to go plant shopping before I come down there!!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I know Cala!!! What in the world can I bring that Gloria would want?????????

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Waaaaaaaah!!!!!! I wanna go to the swap. Just found out my sister is leaving for Florida the end of this month. Will be staying in Florida for 3 months. I wonder if I can hide in her motor home just till she gets there?

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

The heck with hiding, disable it until you can go!Hi-jack it!beg,plead......

Paxton, FL(Zone 8a)

Glory,
I have butterfly, but I definitely would be interested in the other two gingers. Hope I can come up with something you want. I am planning on bringing butterfly too cause I have loads of it. Why don't we bring our seeds too and save on postage?

Altamonte Springs, FL(Zone 9a)

Hi Glory...I would love ginger also..I have butterfly and the shampoo one (pine cone I think).....I too will have to go to some plant sales to have trades......are seeds acceptable also? I have a neat footed fern that can take over an area in a heartbeat, but is containable and hardy and good looking......would anyone be interested in some of that? I might even have some gloriosa lily roots....I have a big bed of them that needs to be moved to a climbing area and I can bring some of them....

Let me know

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

I'm not sure you guys need to go shopping! look around.. another thing, in a way cuttings and baby plants might work really well to save people space.... can't take home an 8 foot leland cypress unless you bring a big truck, so you might divide plants you have into starters, or root some, or even start seeds of some interesting plants in starter pots to bring. we're supposed to be saving money...

Sharbot, if you are in a home depot down there, please see if they have goldfinger plant, juaulloa auranticca.....they don't have them here yet, may still be cold to have in your area, just if you think about it.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I am looking for gloriosa lilys and pepper seeds would be a great trade for me!! I can't wait, this is great. Wondering if hybrid seedlings would capture anyones interest?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Oh a Gloriosa lily (red one) would be great. I went looking around today and I took cuttings to root of Matrona, Dragons Blood and a tiny variegated creeping sedum; marroon ajuga (dwarf, new);cestrum pink;lamiastrum Herman's Pride; I also have lots of other perennials and if I know what someone is looking for I can bring it with me. That fern sounds cool. I have a few Silver Painted Japanese ferns.
