Looking To Move

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I am considering moving to a different state. This has been in my mind for some time. I would like input from one and all please. I am looking for warm climate, little humidity, tolerent society, smallish, low crime and nice people, cost of living info, benifits for people on disability and any other info you have. Do to health reason I really think another climate would be good for me.
Since my Mom is so ill and we have been told she will not be with us for long I am going to start to get information.
This is the only reason I haven't gone before now and I thought I would have several more years to plan but very sadly I won't. I will be taking family with me so I won't be alone. Anyone who is versed on the gov. help in some of the places please add that info also.

Thanks to all who have been so kind without the kind words I would be feeling a whole lot worse. Here I go again rambling. I will go for now.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

HoniBee, I am looking for the same kind of place, so will be following your posts. I really like WI, living near Madison has a ton of benefits, but the winters are cold, we can have some humid summers (changes) and the taxes in WI are the 3rd highest in the nation. I would consider staying here if I could find a place near enough to the health care facilities, but in smaller town with lower land costs.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Yes, HoniBee & MarciaG. - Come here, Tig and I are just 43 mi apart and about that far out of Atlanta so we don't have to deal with the city traffic. Yet, we have nice malls and stores within about 15 min driving time. Tigs area is a little more rural than Jonesboro, but a growing community. The summers do get hot and dry but it's great to get out in the early morning and work in the yard, then check in Dave's or take a nap when it gets too hot outside. The winters aren't really bad, we complain when there is a freeze but it ususally doesn't last long - today was about 60 and beautiful.

Nanaimo, BC(Zone 8b)

Vancover Island B.C. HEALTH CAPITAL OF THE WORLD, The most average temperature and laid back living known to man, lots to do, see you soon.

"down the Shore", NJ(Zone 7a)

HoniBee, would love to have you for my neighbor in NJ! But truth be told, our temperate weather ranges from freezing with below zero wind chills, to hot and humid for weeks in the summer. My county, Ocean County, may be fastest growing in the nation. Cost of living in NJ is, again, highest for housing and insurance... This growth brings crime, and the people, while nice, would surely seem a bit abrupt to anyone not born here! And don't even get me going on 'benefits', our hospitals discontinued 'charity care' and refers patients to NJ Family Care, which is being cut way back, and refers patients to the hospitals for 'charity care'... However, we have beautiful beaches, wonderful retaurants, great shops, antiques stores, flea markets, and if you are close enough to the water, zone 7 gardening. A short trip to NYC for Broadway shows, or to Philadelphia for other events... Maybe I could 'sell' you on it, even if it doesn't meet any of your needs? Love, John

Crossville, TN

Search no more! HERE IT IS!! Sierra Vista, AZ...big enough to find what you need, small enough to keep it! Crime is very low, humidity non-existant (But, it's a dry heat!), except for about 6 weeks during monsoon, when it gets about as high as 45%. Surrounded by mountains that may have snow on the peaks a few months in winter, but not enough to accumulate here in the valley (by the way...our valley is 4,500 FT. Back here in the "boonies" where I live, you can get raw land for about $5,000 per acre...and belong to a well assoc. (very expensive to sink your own well...so 2 to 9 owners go together and sink the well. I live 15 miles from town. If you want more info, just email me! We are a growing place here in Cochise County...so HURRY! Jo
