HI FRIENDS

Grand Prairie, TX

Hello everyone, I know it's been awhile. I haven't made much of a point to be on the net since I had my surgery. Well I am doing great. It's been ALMOST 2 months since i had my surgery, i just started physical therapy two weeks ago, besides having regular check ups with the surgeon who was is a GREAT doctor and referred me to a GREAT physical therapist. Anyway, i am making terrific progress. I am learning how to walk again with my "new" leg. My leg has always been deformed inside, so my doc performed surgery to move the knee cap to the center of my leg, took out some muscle (the muscle was too tight and pulling my knee cap out of joint) and he detatched the ligament, moved the lower bone over, put in some screws and reattatched it. so, since my entire leg is so different now, I have to learn how to walk with it again. I am still on crutched and have been wearing a brace that covers my entire leg and it helps so much. I dont wear it as often, at least i havent been since my leg started healing, but now that i am moving it more and using it more with the crutches i have started wearing it again. I was so nervous about having my first surgery, i literally made myself sick, but when it was over and i woke up, i felt great, no pain and it was no big deal. anyway, i am doing better and better. my son helps. he will be two in march. he is SO smart and so independent. He hands me my crutches if they are out of reach. he 'fetches' the diapers for me when i need to change him and even gets outfits for me when he needs to get dressed. how sweet he is. anyway, just wanted to let you all know how i am doing and to let you know i will be on here more often now and want to know what is up with everyone. I miss you all and will be on more to chat and if anyone has any news, or anything else, just send me e-mail and i will be in touch, as well as on here. so everyone take care! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a great new year!! I had a very wonderful time over the holidays, i stayed home and had family over. i am still getting lots of rest. my son and husband help me out so much, so do my parents and my sister. so anyway, i am making this long. take care and i cant wait to hear from all of you!
love, xxx's, ooo's,

Hi CocoSeed:
It's great to hear that you are mending well and getting all the help you need. Your son will grow lots from helping to take care of Mommy too. They love to be helpful at that age and it puts something into their mind that they don't forget. They learn to always be helpful if they are given the opportunity to do that when they are young.

I don't mean to make this sound like a good thing at all, as I am sorry you had to go though the surgeries, but I'm happy for you getting your leg fixed and I'm happy that your son is learning a valuable life lesson also. I'm one to always try to find the good in the bad.

I'm looking forward to visiting with you more. Check out Flowox's chat room. We visit there quite often in between Dave's scheduled chats.

Well you really are having a Happy New Year! I'm so glad to hear this. I know what it is to be laid up for a while and how miserable you can get but when the end results are good it makes it all worth while. janet

thank you all. this surgery was optional for me. my knee was always going out on me and there was a non-surgical way that probably would not have fixed it so with my doc's good advice, i went for the surgery and it hasnt been bad at all! i am recovering better than i ever thought i would. at first, it was a little hard, but I've learn to manage it and all your cards, prayers and posts helped BUNCHES!
