The Trade List launches

I launched the new Trade Lists just now. This replaces the old "seed list", which was the first feature on DG (even before we had forums, and even before we were called Dave's Garden).

Anyway, the new trade lists are modeled after the journal code, and looks and feels very similar. Go to your member page and you'll find the link to your new lists.

Definitely check out Sharon's tutorial on this new system. It will be a huge help to you who've never used the journal before.

Dave, I love the new trade list. I only had time to add 1 shrub,because it is a beautiful day, in southern Ohio, and I am busyily preparing a trade, to be shipped today. Thanks!!!

Sharon or Dave - I know I must be a dork, but where are my old "have" items?

Rise: You were a special case, because you signed up way back when I used to allow spaces in the username. I had to change that back in January.

Anyway, the short answer: You're fixed up now. :) Please let me know if your items are (or aren't) back as you expected.

Rise: I did some more checking. It looks like you don't have anything visible. Is this true? If you look at your own lists, do you see the stuff there? Let me know - your particular lists trouble me here.

Yea! That fixed it - everything is there. Now that I have stopped sweating....great job on the tradelist re-write!

BTW, those Federle Tomato seeds you sent are growing like weeds! I have fifteen little plants :) The butterfly bush is just starting to germinate. We had another three inches of snow last night, sigh.

Rise: Enjoy those Federle tomato seeds! Mine are doing great also! These are a family heirloom, given to me by my Uncle Blane who has grown them for years and years. He received them about 25 years ago from a friend in Korea. I have several of these Federle plants at almost full size already!

Hey Dave-What am I doing wrong? I'm trying to edit my lists in the new format and I'm lost--I'm trying to follow Sharons tutorial --when I get to STEP ONE create a category--I already have my categories in-when I go to STEP TWO and click on annuals to add a new item I get stuck in the --to add a new subcategory page--How do I get to "adding a new item"?

kat7: Go back to the main page of the trade list. Then click on "Annuals". You were in a different area...

To edit preexisting entries, just find the entry (View by Category to find it) and click "Edit".

Dave, That looks great! I am going to have to make myself stay off of the forums long enough to actually enter my data in. I am so far behind. :( I have been really procrastinating. I better get it done before my yard melts. It has already gone to 4' deep snow on most of my yard to 2-3'.

OK I think I may be a bit cranky right now so I will try to breathe deep. I am having trouble with my trade page. I lurk alot and try not to complain and I have watched for a LONG time, things come and go. I cannot find the links I spent hours setting up to the 74 different items of trade I have to offer. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Look in the right-hand column of this page. Look in "Weebus's Menu" and click on "Your Trade Lists".

Click on "Available for Trade Only".

There is your list, and you'll find all 74 of your items are listed on that page.

At that point, you can edit your items just like before.

I have found my trade lists, but I had links to each one of my trades so other people could go to a website and see and read about that particular plant. I am having trouble finding them and I have a TERRIBLE hunch they are gone. I must say that will make me a very unhappy camper considering all the work I have put into it.....I appreciate your help

weebus: they are still there just not being shown right now. I'll get them to show up in your lists next time I've got a free moment. In the meantime rest easy knowing that they are still there, just not yet visible.

Ok Thanks! I feel much better knowing the blistered fingers are not for naught. No hurry, just a convenience and learning tool for the traders. I just appreciate them still existing......
