Hi, my dad just moved to North Texas and has come across some trees with a reddish purple heartwood. The heartwood makes me think red cedar but the leaves do not look like cedar leaves at all. I’ve tried my plant ID app and getting various results from eastern red cedar, western red cedar, red mulberry, black cherry, etc. not sure which if any of those is right. Any help is appreciated!
