This is the third year this plant has appeared in the same place. It has deep roots and very compact grass-like growth next to the ground, but it sends out long, horizontal shoots with bottle-brush seeds (husks?). It's tenacity scares me, as I thought I had removed the entire plant. Is it a keeper or compost material?
SOLVED: Unknown Weed in Perennial Bed?
Thanks to Dave's Email letter today, I've identified it as the Cyperus Species, Chufa Sedge, Tiger Nut, Weedy Nutsedge, Yellow Nut-Grass. For some reason, I haven't been able to remove all of it. Rethink wanting a small start.
