I am located in 8B, the Carolinas.
I have been perplexed by this plant in my grandmother’s yard. I have identified violets, spider lilies, blue-eyed grass, spiderwort, ragwort, and wild garlic amongst the unique plants in her yard (as compared to mine, lol).
However, this one plant, I cannot identify. I considered it may be a lily, but I wonder if it is an orchid? It appears to be a monocot, and the underside of these leaves have a red hue toward the base.
It appears to be growing alongside smoothcap moss (Atrichum spp.), in case that helps with identification. Additionally, it is growing underneath a boxwood-like bush.
I have included two photographs. Thank you for any assistance.
