Journal tutorial!

Okay all you folks who are a little confused about how to use the journal software that is available here at DG...

Sharon (SMSpear1) has written an excellent tutorial/getting started document for the Gardener's Journal. Check it out here:

Thanks for this excellent HOWTO, Sharon!

Thanks Sharon. I haven't examined your tutorial yet - a bit late for me to take it in, but first thing tomorrow :-)

Way to go Sharon! Great work!!!! Very easy-to-read, and logically laid out. Can I make two comments/suggestions? (I know it's hard to improve on perfection, but......)

1. Make it printable, and prompt new users to print it off before they begin - otherwise, they might get confused flipping back and forth between it and the journal; and/or

2. (This one is even more a "Dave question/suggestion") Make the sections hyperlinked, so that you can see the introduction section, and then you can click on any aspect of the journal you want to explore further.

I know these suggestions may contradict each other (or you'd have to set up print functions for each section to do them both), but I think either of these could make the guide a little easier to digest and navigate for the first-time user.

Thank you for your kind words, go_vols and Happy Toes. I'm so glad you like it. Here's a secret. I did the one for the new trade list too. I've been at this computer screen for about 4 days now. My eyes and my bottom are really tired! LOL! But it was well worth it to help other people enjoy and make good use of the wonderful tools Dave has worked so hard on for us.

Good suggestions about printing it first so you're not jumping around.

Thanks for your hard work Sharon! I like how this is integrated in with the journal now. We appreciate you!

Thank you, RiseAnn, I appreciate it. I hope it "reads" well enough for everyone to follow it. If anyone has any questions about it, I would be glad to answer them. I guess this would be the best thread for that, given the title of the thread.

Sharon

PS I've clicked on watching this thread and will leave it on for questions about the tutorial. I'll answer the questions here.
