Big and Little Pairs

When can we begin letting folks know who are partners are and the neat things that we have learned from one another? Has anyone managed to keep their identity a secret from their partner?

Interesting concept... I wonder how it worked in reality. People tend to seek each other out because of something that 'attracts' them, including those that are mentors and their 'mentee'. I wonder if simply 'assigning' someone works quite as well? I have always thought the Big/Little Brother/Sister Program had a lot of merit but never have participated, so I really don't know...

My pairing worked out well. Although we figured each other out early on. We've spent alot of time emailing until we figured out that a 45 minute phone call did wonders and saved hours of typing. We have chatted several times and she is a delight to talk to. It's my turn to call her this week.

I've heard that for several folks it did not work so well.

I was going to be sneakie and hold out on posting who was paired to who for another week and a half or so. Probably post "who's who" near or right after Christmas.

Sorry you missed out. I have learned since organizing it, that, like Big Brothers & Sisters, it only works as well as the effort put in by both big and little.

Maybe another time when I'm less bogged down by classes and research I'll muster up another one.

I think this is where I got Badseed, although I don't recall signing up for pairing. In any case, how lucky could one gardener be? Michele is adorable to me, the age of my youngest child and someone I would love to have nearby. She has such a great sense of humor, is generous and warm, and has those lovely girls. Somehow she reminds me of justmelisa. There are so many neat people at DG, I would have had a very difficult time choosing one, but someone must have known me well if they paired me with BS.

I think I know mine-Getting out the map of PA to see how close these 2 towns are!!! =]

What a sweetie I have. She's one very special person in every way.

My Dear Aimee, your words bring me to tears. I feel the same way about you. I did get a secret pal, but it wasn't you. I have been reading your posts both here and the other place for a couple of years I think, can't remember how long. I feel like I have known you forever. :) Maybe it is all the kids, budgeting, getting by, who knows? I just think you are one tough cookie, having gone through what you have been through and it makes me like you all the better. No one had to tell me to talk to you. I just wanted to and I got lucky because you wanted to talk too. :) Plain and simple, I just like you because you are you. I am lucky to know you.
