Did you send a package to me?

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

A notice in my mailbox informed me I have a parcel at the post office, from "Howard". My car blew a head gasket and I won't have another car until tomorrow night, so I need to know if the pkg. has live plants. Our post office closes at noon on Saturday, but if I have live plants waiting, I need to get them before the p.o. closes for the weekend. Otherwise, it can wait until Monday, can't it? If it's from you and I need to get it asap, please email me.

howard .... are you expecting anything from: Gardenhubby? Arlene? I know Howard would be associated with both of them, does it ring a bell??

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks, tiG! It's Arlene, and supposed to be seeds. Too late to expect an email answer, but I'll try to find out if anything is perishable. She mailed it last Friday, took an entire week. Not too unusual for G'town, but it irks me. Many thanks for prodding my brain. Just never know when it's safe to throw away anything.

a package of seeds would have fit in your box is what I'm thinking.

Me, too, tiG, it's why I'm worried. But the postal employees here never cease to amaze me with their lack of common sense or conscience about their jobs. Like the pile of mail in an abandoned box down the road, covering medical bills for almost six months, and I was getting other mail in my box during the time these were sent. Caused a lot of unnecessary hard feelings, cost me (not paid yet) $80,000 because the bills weren't submitted for payment in the alloted time. Of course, no one takes responsibility when I go to the post office. Very odd, just certain mail. Once I sent plants to Louisiana, Priority, and they arrived 3 months later, middle of a heat wave with record temps. In the interim, not a trace. I have filed complaints, but to no avail. Just this big eyed reaction, as if this is oh so shocking and we'll get to the bottom of it, and then nothing. Been that way for at least 11 years. I will probably call a friend to pick it up for me or take me in the morning. Having no wheels is tough!

Silly me! That package is the one with "thousands" of seeds from Arlene. I went back in my trash and found the e-mail. So that explains why they didn't leave it in the box, although they could still have come through the highway gate. My old carrier would have. Anyway, I will be posting to offer these as soon as I get some packaged. Assuming, that is, I get something done about my transportation.

here's hoping the transportation works out soon. Glad you got it figured out and don't have to worry about getting there right now:)

i was having problems with my post office returning my mail if 1 number was off some used a 6 instead of a G. one day they returned some vital medical records i was waiting a month for from another state. i called the post master general of that post office i called govoners office and i called the post master general of the united states. they deliver all my mail no matter what now. thank you very much yes i am a royal B.

Hey Aimee, Have you received your box from me yet? I mailed on Tuesday. I mailed one to Louisiana the same day and it arrived yesterday. It had an address label on it when it left here. :)

No, Badseed, I haven't, and that was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the slip. It could be sitting there and just not being handled. With that bunch, anything is possible. I almost quit trading plants because of this, and then got sick and was desperate for action! I will be there when they open Monday morning, and I will be demanding answers.

Farmgirl, I have been wrestling with this post office for 12 years, have done everything you did, but they just get in a brand new crew and it seems there is always at least one ready to be the bad apple. Believe it or not, I have friends there, but it only takes one person to foul the water. No one in higher positions ever bothers with this and the Round Rock locations, maybe because they know there will always be someone to work despite customer complaints, and they are all lazy. We are not allowed to sue them, not that I would have the money or energy anyway, so we have to hope we can inspire someone to do their job. I am thinking about having my plants sent to my son's in Austin, 22 miles away, but keep trying to make it work here. I am so depressed I could spit. Two years ago it got really bad, and I asked for an appointment with the manager; we don't have a postmaster in this office. He told me he couldn't see that I had any cause for action! My mail was being dragged all over the country and coming in months late, but I had no cause for action. They took basic training at the old phone company.
