The very best day!

Well kids, I am not much for long drives. Put me on a plane and I do fine, but I am not much for long drives. I have met Mystic/Peggy several times, but it was my turn to go to her house. So I packed up the four little ones and hubby too and on our way we went! It was about a two hour drive, but totally pleasant. There was barely any traffic. The kids were really good and sat in the back watching tapes while we drove. We only had to stop once for a potty break! When we got to Peggy's she met us at the door and the smell of herbed chicken followed her out! We herded the family into her house and she gave me a tour. Her home is so wonderfully decorated with things old and new! I would have taken her baker's rack given the chance! Her daughter kept the kids well enertained with herself and Disney, poor girl. LOL We had food and drinks and fashion shows and even a tour of the yard and greenhouse and we exchanged presents too. Would have taken the greenhouse too if it would have fit in the van! We sat and talked and exchanged presents and talked and had more food! Then she took us to the family farm. My kids are either really scary, or have a future as herders! LOL Bet we looked like a bunch of scary city chicks out there mooing at cows (took notes from Dave LOL-couldn't resist slipping that in there)! And I have to say, the miniature donkey does a great job keeping up with the horses, which is unbelievable since his little legs are so short! LOL It was a wonderful day, which couldn't have been better! I even got a surprise! Nana called. It was such a shock, suprise and delight! Nana should change her name! She sounds just like a youngster on the phone. Her voice is so full of life and humor and kind of sexy too! I was so thrilled to hear her that all I could do was laugh! It was really such a great day and I just had to share. It really was a perfect day. We made the drive home almost as uneventful as the drive down. I hated to leave, we could have stayed forever. Whoever said "Gardeners are the best" was SO right!

Badseed....sounds like a wonderful time to me. I have found gardeners to be a very pleasant bunch of folks too. I think they have peace because of what they do. That transfers to their personality. I am the kind who can get too busy....so I like the gardening to slow me down, and I love nature so very much. I always have. I am even dreaming of getting a horse for the kids and myself one day. Only problem is I have no money, or land yet. I would love a Peruvian Paso, Missouri Foxtrotter, Arabian, or Paint. Since I cant run anymore I can feel like I can with a horse. HAHA. I love the freedom and the wind in my hair....and being outside. I could just about live outside. I love camping too. I think it is human nature to crave these things.

Carefull when ya go to mystic's...I hear she pinches people! Did you get out of there with out one?

Yeah well, I heard certain people ask her to give pinches to visitors! LOL I didn't get pinched. I think she was afraid to over stimulate me and get stuck birthing a butt roast! Now that she has seen me, I think she and Nana have bets on when I will have this baby. ROTFL

Sounds like you guys had a really good time. Now I can't wait until you guys finally make it to my house..........come on January, where are you.........lol

I need a road trip now!!! I want to go see Mystic and everybody. Wonder if DH would mind if I took a year off from the garden center and toured the country DG style?

Yes it was a wonderful day. I had a blast. It was so fun to have small children in the house again. They are all so beautiful. The only problem is I wanted to keep them, didn't want them to go home. I was so glad to get to see them again. Even Craig.... lol (he likes to make fun of the way I talk). I did have to send him home with something from Ky. lol Thank you BADSEED GANG for the visit and making my hoidays brighter.Its was so great to see you all again. I have to agree a truely perfect day.

I am so green with ENVY that I look like the Grinch!! There is no one out my way to come visit me...boo hoo.

But...so glad you had a great time. The kids also got some up close visiting with the animals too, that's terrific.

If I still lived in Dayton, OH (early 80's) I could be visiting with ya'll too.
