Am I seeing red

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

I just noticed that when I pass my mouse over any words that look like links, the link turns red and becomes outlined, except for some headings, which take on a blue color when clicked. I had accidentally caused the word "Forum" to turn blue once this week, but then couldn't get it to repeat it. What an active webmaster we have! I can't keep up with the new features, but I love the way it gives life to the site. Uh-oh, when I switched back to my usual browser, Netscape, instead of IE, the red disappeared.

Anything on DG that is blue, turns red as I pass the mouse over it. It's been doing this for a while now.

Yep, I think I made this change back in May or so. It's a cascading style sheet (CSS) trick, and requires a browser that has 100% support of CSS to see the links.

Internet Explorer does it, and so does Netscape 6.

That explains it, I use NS 4.7. It's a neat feature, but not neat enough to inspire me to use IE or give up NS 4.7. Maybe for grins I will use IE once in a while. But it does light up things. What else am I missing????

Probably heaps! :-)

I gave up NS 4.76 for the Gecko browser (netscape 6 is an example of a Gecko browser) just a couple months ago. Since then, all new features are coded in that browser, so they probably look best with NS6.

But, I don't code for browser-specific stuff, so the DG you see is basically the same DG you'll see no matter which browser you use.

Always decisions! I am barely able to navigate, so I have learned that I must wait a long time before giving up something that works. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" was penned for me. But I might stick my neck out when I get the other puter up and running, so I have a spare if I totally trash the e-beast. In my braver moments, I think another maxim is my theme song: "Even a turtle has to stick his neck out to get anywhere".
